Sheina Mot spent her childhood on a parent farm, away from big cities. Her father produced and sold boats, and her mother made baskets of pine needles. Both parents only encouraged her daughter's desire for creativity - therefore, at the age of 12, Shane began to change clothes using old checkered shirts. Sheina Mot is a self-taught designer who has learned all the basics of cutting and sewing through books and magazines. Now two full-fledged collections have come out under her name, Shane herself still leads a reclusive life and lives in a suburb of Los Angeles in the house she built with her friends. All Shaina Mote clothes are numbered and produced in no more than one hundred copies.

^{Consciously, I decided to do clothes not so long ago. In the US, there is a clear shortage of designers who would make clothes in harmony with the natural world: I make clothes from the remnants of rolls of fabric that they were going to throw away, and thus support the environment. But my sources of inspiration are not only nature: for example, books about men's clothing of the 30s prompted me to create my latest collection, and later I used relevant materials: thick flannel, hard cotton and velveteen, and for contrast I combined it with silk knitted items.}
