Paris Fashion Week FW 14: Kenzo Backstage Show
Paris Fashion Week was held in the French capital - the most serious and pompous of all fashion weeks. However, it also shows on her bold and advanced brands. The photographer and designer Kristina Abdeeva visited a number of them and said that she saw behind the scenes. In this issue - one of the most anticipated shows of the season, for which the scenery and music made director David Lynch.
Kenzo is greeted with a state of mild panic and running around. Models line up for rehearsal - this is very convenient, because you can better see the clothes. It seems that I am in an oasis of birds of paradise, lit by the rays of searchlights, where makeup artists and hairdressers scurry everywhere, making the last amendments. The makeup on the show, as well as this season as a whole, is very simple. The only accent is blue arrows and nails of the same shade.
The collection is full of colors, textures, embroidery, ornaments, strange combinations. Umberto Leon and Carol Lim perfectly transform the idea of Orientalism; this season the mood of mysticism and anxiety hovers over the collection. This is complemented by the fact that David Lynch himself worked on the design of the show, both visual and musical. He inspired the designer duet before, but this season, according to them, this influence reached its peak, resulting in an excellent collaboration. Kenzo is generally famous for its good collaborations, which are only worth their advertising campaigns, shot by the famous contemporary artist Maurizio Cattelan.
Parks with fur and prints, light green, scarlet, gold, sculptural tops, similar to oriental armor, zigzag print, which immediately evokes thoughts of "Twin Peaks". This, of course, is not exactly the rampant fun Kenzo demonstrated in an alliance with M.I.A. (both will, however, be at the party after the show), but the feeling of Lynchev's suspense has not harmed anyone yet.
