EDITORIAL WONDERZINE Every week she chooses the most interesting event and recommends how to dress up there. This week you can not miss the joint party of the Center for Contemporary Culture "Garage" and Absolut, which will play a DJ set among the most brilliant experimental girls in the field of modern art and music - multidisciplinary artist Fatima Al Kadiri and musician Venus Jazmin Soto, better known by by pseudonym Venus X.
Absolut & Garage pARTy feat. Fatima Al Qadiri and Venus X
Where: Summer Pavilion Center "Garage" in Gorky Park When: August 15, 20:00 How many: free entrance to the club card "Garage" ARTFriend
Under futuristic The summer pavilion of the Center for Contemporary Culture Garage’s “fungi” already played the DJ set Jamie xx this summer, and this Thursday they will play Fatima Al Kadiri and Venus Jazmin Soto (Venus X). Both girls live and work in New York, regularly play in iconic museums like MoMA and Tate Modern and feel free to mix together different musical genres and cultural contexts. But if Venus X grew up in Manhattan and experiments only with sound (juk, South African house, salsa, Turkish techno - everything goes into action), then Fatima Al Kadiri is famous for its multidisciplinary approach to creativity. She spent all her childhood in Kuwait, witnessed the Persian Gulf war with her own eyes, and now explores Islamic issues in all her works, be it art projects or music. So, the last EP of Al Kadiri "Desert Strike" is named after the shooter of the same name for the SEGA console, with a story based on the military operation in the Persian Gulf, in which Fatima played as a child. Al Kadiri used separate samples from this game in her tracks. They, together with the burning dance mix from Venus X, will brighten up our Thursday evening in Gorky Park; the main thing is that the weather does not let down.
This is the second event within the program of the Center and Absolut, dedicated to contemporary musical culture. We did not declare any dress code to create the most comfortable atmosphere, and since everything will happen in the summer pavilion of the Garage in Gorky Park, I would advise you to dress up as comfortable as possible with the expectation of a party and dancing on the street. Girls definitely better to refrain from shoes with heels - sandals, espadrilles, sneakers or sneakers would be the best choice: beautiful and comfortable. Given the inconstancy of the weather, grab a cardigan or a hoodie so as not to freeze on the way home.
Dress up Summer is coming to an end, and good parties are not so frequent anymore, so don't be afraid to overdo it. In the end, heels can always be removed. Appropriate: sex, black, black, and once again black plus the park in case of rain. Inappropriate: burka, yellow and discouragement.
