Vlada Haggerty
Vlada Haggerty is from Ukraine, but lives and works in Los Angeles. Even if you still have not heard her name, then you are surely familiar with the works. The business card of the make-up artist is lime art on the verge of the possible: on the lips of models you can see flowing metal textures, applications from sequins and rhinestones, prints and whole plot drawings. Unfortunately, the loudest story in which she appeared is connected with the plagiarism of the works, which Kylie Jenner’s team was not ashamed of — the debate about where inspiration ends and frank theft of ideas begins. Fortunately, the specific style of Haggerty is almost impossible to miss.
Ida Ekman
Another very recognizable account is conducted by Finnish makeup artist Ida Ekman. The owner of many tattoos and a fan of bright style decisions demonstrates a variety of abstract make-ups - mainly the eye. Almost all of them are made with strokes, strokes and sprays applied with calligraphic precision. Ida is not afraid of any colors: for weeks she can lay out her work in deep burgundy and dark blue tones, and then add sky blue or neon pink. About the make-up artist of the budget brand e.l.f. Cosmetics is still little known, but her works speak for themselves. The work is easy to track the rapid progress, and Ruti’s love for graphics and texture games will not leave anyone indifferent. The author of the account is not keen on multi-layered post-processing of photos, so in her tape you can see the main thing - how far from the standard representations make-up look on your face. Beautifully and completely reproducible: good proof that the most avant-garde ideas do not require skin that is “blured” by all means, as is often the case in magazine and amateur shootings.
Kimberley margarita
A makeup artist from Canada, a graduate of the famous JCI Institute, announced herself at the NYX Face Awards - 2016 - she created sophisticated fantasy images. She is equally good at candy princesses and dead dolls. The second alias Color Creep, which the girl uses for her YouTube channel, appeared for a reason: Kimberly is a fan of bright and very complicated make-up and body art. She easily uses and combines the most capricious colors, draws the outline of her cheekbones pink and lilac and regularly changes her hair color. This, of course, is the upper limit, beyond which the art of make-up begins, but the very principle of handling flowers, which the make-up artist demonstrates, is worth attention.
Studio Chilly Dash
Moscow makeup studio exists only a year, but in a big way. Her main engine, Daria Kholodnykh, is well known not only in the Russian make-up community. Other participants are no less outstanding - Gevorg, a person-highlighter well known to our readers, is also from her gang. Daria says that she is most interested in using cosmetics not for its intended purpose and constantly experimenting - she teaches everyone who comes to Chilly Dash for new knowledge. The results are amazing: it is equally interesting to consider the work of the new ones, and what the team does on serious shootings. That is a pleasant occasion when you don’t have to go far for unique content.
Andrey Shilkov
The Moscow makeup artist is known for teaching MosMake at school and painting domestic stars for covers and filming. However, the ability to make truly intelligent nude makeup and beautifully use classical techniques is only a small part of Shilkov's creative case. He is fascinated by bright pure colors and pictorial techniques - sometimes he demonstrates them in glossy works, like in this shooting with Paulina Andreeva. In his instagram, Andrew also shares reviews on his favorite cosmetic products, meticulously evaluating their characteristics.
Kate moore
The self-taught make-up artist and ambassador of the brand Ellis Faas has achieved a truly world-wide popularity. She works a lot for foreign and Russian publications, and among her works it is very difficult to find something restrained; on models, Kate fulfills all major professional trends without sparing her stomach. To completely cover your face and body with glitter, to decorate Russian actors with food or not to wear clothes when you can draw them - the makeup artist creates crazy images using all the possibilities of makeup. Last year, she also acted as a director: beautiful videos for the Russian version of Vogue and the brand Alexander Terekhov came out for her authorship.
Val garland
Legendary name, which is still worth mentioning in this collection. One of the main British makeup artists working with Kate Moss and Mario Testino, asked more than one trend during fashion weeks and always feels the agenda: makeup that “improves” has never been close to her. Today she works with MAC, and for the brand it is a solid acquisition. Instagram Val came out somewhat chaotic - the makeup artist simply consistently puts all his work. It is especially interesting to watch her just in the next series of podium shows: Garland's make-ups often create a sensation and it is very pleasant to see the author’s first reports.
Katya Gorelova
On many of the filming of domestic Internet publications, including ours, it is Katya who works. Her instagram is a collection of excellent images created by joint efforts. The approach, of course, depends on the magazine and the photographer, but the makeup artist always keeps an individual style. He meticulously chooses accents, loves “wet” skin and gives a master class on non-standard solutions: here is strobe transparent glitter, and applications from pearls, and translated tattoos in eye makeup, and many more memorable ideas.
Nika Kislyak
The former official makeup artist L'Oréal Paris is now a freelance artist: she often gives master classes and works in gloss. Her main love is Pat McGrath, whose cosmetics she uses every other time (and with a metallic makeup artist on a short leg). Nika's choice is the same trail of creative make-up, bold and interesting elements can be found even in the most conservative commercial shootings. We are waiting for new works - they appear in the tape infrequently.
