Paris Fashion Week FW 14: The Backstage of Rick Owens Show
Paris Fashion Week was held in the French capital - the most serious and pompous of all fashion weeks. However, there are also displays of daring and advanced brands on it. The photographer and designer Kristina Abdeeva visited a number of them and said that she saw behind the scenes. This material is the backstage of Rick Owens, who presented a collection emphasizing feminine strength and personality.
On the backstage of Rick Owens, there is no uniform model line-up for the second season already: this time the team works behind the scenes, and goes to the podium as models. Last season, a similar role was played by girls who performed an incredible dance on his show. This is a kind of tribute to all women who have worked with him side by side for many years and each of them has somehow participated in the life of the brand. Owens' main woman — Michelle Lami — still remains to sit in the front row.
Universal make-up, which "draw" on all models, either. Make-up artists face the task of adapting make-up to the features of the face of each model, to make each one feel comfortable and emphasize her individuality. It is not so difficult: once the makeup is a minimum - just a basic basis, a little shadow, just to show the freshness of the face. The maximum of naturalness, the desire to see the unique and natural beauty, without hanging any additional visual labels.
In terms of bows, simple, but at the same time, sculptural forms prevail: pants with kneecaps, which cause associations with the cosmonaut uniform, the one under the spacesuit. The collection as a whole is like the uniform of the army of Rick. Boots above the knee with its famous platform, crocodile skin, black, burgundy, several bows with embroidery in monochrome tones, reminiscent of the patterns of the peoples of the North.
The woman Rick is certainly strong and ready to stand up for herself. But if last season it was said much more straightforwardly and aggressively, in this he makes the statement more elegant and, if I may say so, delicate.
