Wardrobe: Andrey Isakin, designer
Jacket, inheritance; Cheap Monday jeans, Converse sneakers, Isakin bracelet, vintage sunglasses, Beam watch, scooter keys
I got the jacket from my father and my father from my great-grandfather. My great-grandfather was an engineer, he built the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant in it. And my father used to ride me on a motorcycle as a child, and I have since that time remember this oil-smelling stone skin, which I associated with masculinity. Now I myself ride in this jacket and wildly proud of it.
I learned the story of dry selvage denim jeans, which cannot be washed until they are individually deformed by the shape, I learned while shooting for GQ. Especially zamorochennye people are taking them to the first wash at the Dead Sea, so that they somehow especially correctly sat down and shed. I have been carrying my own for a year now, but have not yet decided where I will celebrate this crucial moment.
I've been wearing Converse sneakers since 2005. They are worn, holed, but that is what I like. What I just did not survive in them - for example, I participated in the tomato slaughter in Spain, which is why I still find pieces of tomatoes on an insole or sole.
The bracelet shows an old advertisement for “Zhiguli” “kopek”, although only its elements are visible in a twisted version. This is a very beautiful photo, where the car is in the savanna with animals around, and the family is sitting next to a small picnic. I printed it on the fabric, and then sewed such bracelets.
In Paris, there is a gallery "104". In it, artists can be allocated a place for any creative project, provide accommodation and materials with the only condition - that they will create it on a general review. In this gallery there is one archaic shop where I bought these glasses. I picked up a beautiful case for them, but since at that time the store was already closing and the sellers were in a hurry, they did not notice the glasses inside and only wanted to count it. Although the case alone cost much cheaper, I did not test my conscience and confessed.
Watch "Ray" passed me by inheritance. For a long time I was looking for this particular model on the “Hammer” and Avito, but after a while my grandmother showed me a collection of old grandfather hours, and I saw them there. They have a very thin case, beautiful dial, elegant figures. I replaced the torn strap with a new crocodile strap, which I ordered from Thailand.
Velvet Pants Calvin Klein Long Sleeve Polo
I bought the pants of the Baron on the Lambada Market. The guy who sold them, brought them from Ukraine. They were taken there as a charitable assistance, but instead of distributing, they arranged a sale.
Trench, dad's gift; shirt, bow tie, pants — all Isakin; java cufflinks, Jack Georges briefcase
Trench - this is the only gift dad, which I really like.
The cufflinks were bought on my 1970 1970 motorcycle. They lay for a long time after they came to me from England, since I did not have a suitable shirt. I looked for her everywhere, even went to Tom Ford on Tretyakovsky passage, but even there I did not find a shirt for my cufflinks. The problem was resolved during my trip to Sri Lanka. There I ordered both a shirt and a good suit according to my own design.
I have long dreamed of a good portfolio. This is the most convenient bag for riding a motor scooter - you can hang it on a hook and ride with a free back and arms.
Isakin Costume, Tom Ford Glasses
I ordered the suit in Sri Lanka, and it cost me a hundred dollars - a jacket, pants and three shirts of different colors for cufflinks. All the elements of the costume are lined with a small floral print. Young saleswomen in a fabric store in Sri Lanka giggled playfully at me, who was buying such cloth.
I have three dollars in my pocket, which symbolize the change from the costume tailoring. There are also remains of my old butterfly, which the tailor cut in order to use the accessories for the new one ordered. Although at our first meeting, he assured that he had everything he needed - on the day when I came for a suit, he gave me my torn butterfly. Since it was too late to swear at him, I took the remnants, and I hope that someday I will restore it. While I carry it just in my pocket.
In these glasses Tom Ford, I am ready to drive on the "Mustang" in Los Angeles, as Steve McQueen in the movie "Bullitt".
Forty Two Jacket, Father's Cap
Once the Forty Two brand held a bow contest. I accidentally stumbled upon this link, uploaded my photo there and won. The prize was a total bow from Forty Two. After that, a lot of things from this brand appeared in my wardrobe: I like their approach to clothing production. Soon we will have a collaboration - a line of shorts and t-shirts.
I like my father's cap. It is made of real Scottish tweed with different patches of noble flowers.
Sweater Sexy-Sweaters x Isakin, Denis Simachev Pants Personal Selection
Everyone knows the sexy-sweaters.com blog - sweaters that don't exist. These guys from America find pictures on the Internet and put them on sweaters that everyone really likes. Now I am working on a collaboration with the creators of the blog, so soon you can buy sweaters in reality. I hope Natasha will not be offended that I depicted her on a test sample.
He bought trousers in Stoleshnikov Lane for a sale of ninety percent for some four hundred rubles.
Raincoat, Isakin T-shirt, Red Nixon Watch
I found my ideal rain coat again in Sri Lanka in some non-tourist store. It should be convenient to ride a scooter. Sorry that I talk so much about the scooter, but in the spring I can't think of anything else.
I love red watches for the fact that they are completely made in one color and look in the style of pop art. They are water-resistant, so you can surf on them and always know how much time is left before sunset.
Leather jacket from the shop "Nothing Like", father's sweater, pants Uniqlo
I love a leather jacket for noble scuffs and a large number of pockets. It’s a bit too big for me, so I’m hooking a sweater under it.
Grandfather brought a sweater from the GDR as a gift to his daughter's fiancé, that is, to my dad. This thing, bought in a design shop in Germany, was unique at the time - a piece of Western culture in the Soviet space.
Double-breasted coat with eBay, hat from the store "Frik Frak"
I watched a movie about a rocker who was driving his girlfriend on a motorcycle in a similar coat along a beautiful autumn road outside the city. Then I clicked on a pause and then immediately climbed to look for it on eBay. Found.
Inside this cap, Sherlock Holmes is a label with a history of its creation. It is written in Old English, which is very difficult to understand, so I figured out the intricacies of history only once for the fourth.
Yves Saint Laurent shirt, shorts Forty Two x Isakin
They say that shirts with short sleeves are moveton, but, in my opinion, if you tuck these sleeves, it looks very good.
I painted the shorts and aged them by hand. Soon they will be sold in "Color".
Vintage sweater, Uniqlo shirt, Playlife pants
He bought his favorite woolen sweater in Petersburg, when he went to make records at his friend's party. Despite the fact that the party was a complete failure, the sweater pleased me the whole trip.
Uniqlo shirt is made from linen. As soon as I bought it, my stylist girlfriend called me asking if I had a linen shirt, she said that this was the trend of the season, and immediately took it to shoot. After that I did not see the shirt for several months.
Chinos Italian brand bought on sale in a monobrand store of this company at the airport of Rome. I did a transfer there, and although there was not enough time to go to the city, it was enough for a small shopping on the spot. I love them for insanely pleasant soft fabric.
Levi's shirt, bow tie, handmade backpack
I have a whole collection of bow ties - about fifteen pieces. Most of them were made in the 1970s, 1980s and came to me from California. When I wear them, I imagine, like the previous owner, some retired movie star, having fun in them at a pool party during the golden time of Hollywood.
Levi's shirt is a classic denim shirt that I wear very often.
I ordered a backpack made especially for me in the patchwork technique from Mexico. How cool it is to live in the XXI century, that you can order a unique thing from the other end of the earth via the Internet and not pay big money for it.
Vest from Tver, jeans Emerica, T-shirt Uniqlo, hat from Sri Lanka
The vest, bought at the station square in Tver, has a striking property - it feels like the Good Heat is hidden inside it or some other miracle of modern technology, because it is hot in any weather.
I dedicated most of my life to snowboarding, and snowboarders love to ride in flat pants. For some reason, I still sometimes wear them like that.
I bought a hat in several colors and presented it to all my friends for the New Year. It fits perfectly and is made of a very nice thin fabric.
Helmet Bell 500, jumpsuit from Kirovsk, shoes Adidas, glasses Tom Ford
Bell helmet is a classic of motor sport. The sticker with the wolf migrated to him from the gas tank of my "Java", and it was my model of the motorcycle that the wolf had in "Well, wait!". I ordered a vintage visor separately. Similarly, this was in Jean-Paul Belmondo on the pages of the Italian GQ.
I bought a yellow jumpsuit in Kirovsk, which is located in the Murmansk region behind the Arctic Circle. There is a second-hand, where you can find a lot of vintage ski clothing from Europe.
This model of Adidas sneakers was produced in the 1980s within the Soviet Union under license. Now it is sold in such a blank version - without stripes and a logo, and I bought them in Auchan for four hundred rubles. I remember that in childhood they were worn by children from dysfunctional families, and at the last Fashion Week in Paris, they attracted the attention of many street fashion photographers.
Boots (from left to right): Johnston & Murphy, Togliatti loafers, Johnston & Murphy loafers
Johnston & Murphy is a favorite brand of many generations of American presidents. In them, I received an award at the Grolsh Film Fund competition for our short film "Endless Summer".
I bought gray Togliatti loafers for a hundred and fifty rubles at a flea market near Moscow. They have a very beautiful logo with a sailboat on an iron coin. The label is written in both Russian and English - so we can assume that they once went for export.
Tassel loafers are my most elegant shoes. It seems to me that tassels are the same element of formal men's clothing as cufflinks with butterflies. To wear such loafers you need a special occasion.
Reebok Sneakers
These are my first and last Reebok sneakers.
Last summer, I rediscovered how comfortable it was to go in running sneakers. He wore them very often - walked, went in for sports, rode a skateboard.
On the right - sneakers that I have kept since childhood. Then I, like now, loved cars, especially Volvo: probably because they just started to appear. When I was four years old, I walked with my mother in these sneakers and saw a beautiful Volvo parked in the park. I walked around her, looked, stroked, and my mother said: "Well, still kiss her!" - which I eventually did. Now in a drunken state, I can easily repeat it.
Justin boots
Real cowboy boots bought on eBay. I associate them with circus performers who charge themselves into a cannon and shoot, well, or bull riders.
Glasses (from left to right, top to bottom): glasses from Portugal, Ray-Ban glasses, Topshop glasses
In glasses from Portugal, a piece of the frame is chipped off on the left, but I still love them.
Ray-Ban glasses have a brown tint on the glasses, which gives very nice colors, like in a film photo - through them the world looks better.
I bought Topshop glasses in order to ride a scooter at night or in cloudy weather. Once they had a rim split, and I fixed them with a white electrical tape.
Balls from "Simacheva" badges
Once, in Simachev, the bead curtains broke, and I took a couple of balls as a souvenir. Metal badges like to pin on the lapels of a jacket or jackets.
