Russian rave and Burberry: What was at the new show of Gosha Rubchinsky

On the night from Friday to Saturday, a new collection of Gosha Rubchinsky was shown in St. Petersburg. We tell that we learned from it:

Collaboration with burberry

The main surprise of the show is Rubchinsky's collaboration with Burberry. The designer showed eight models with a recognizable checkered pattern, including a variation on the theme of a classic beige trench coat - a business card of the British brand. Burberry art director Christopher Bailey arrived at the Rubchinsky show.

Rave in dc communication

The new Rubchinsky collection is dedicated to the Russian rave, which originated in St. Petersburg through the efforts of Timur Novikov and other enthusiasts several years before perestroika: it was here, in the building of the House of Culture of Communication Workers, that the first techno parties in Russia took place, at which Mamyshev-Monro danced in the form of a drag queen. Constructivist DC building is located on Bolshaya Morskaya, 58, now there are no raves there.

New Photobook

Together with the project about the Russian culture INRUSSIA, Rubchinsky released a new photo-vine - this time about the Russian rave movement, which flourished in the 1990s. Interviews with important heroes of the epoch and rare photos from the archives of distinguished Petersburg raiders were included in the book. The previous photo book Rubchinsky and INRUSSIA were made for display in Kaliningrad - you can look at it here.

Continuing friendship with adidas

Rubchinsky showed new models from the large-scale collaboration with adidas, timed to the World Cup 2018. Sports jackets with the words “Adidas” in Cyrillic and the workouts fit perfectly into the St. Petersburg rave theme, as well as the variations of Burberry.
