Riot without a cause: 10 cosmetics with a protest spirit
Text: Moore Sobolev
Moore Sobolev, the author of the blog Fierce & Cute, once a week makes a thematic selection of funds from his collection on a given topic. We chose freedom and rebellion as the theme for the first collection - to state our future moods from the very beginning.
Chanel Blue Rebel nail polish
Despite its fame as a conservative brand, Chanel not only regularly expands the horizons of the acceptable and the beautiful in the beauty world, but it also has the assortment of the largest number of products with freedom-loving names - I will only mention Liberte, Rebelle and Libertine in my offhand collection. For this collection, I chose Blue Rebel lacquer - a beautiful dark blue tint that came out in the fall of 2011 as part of the limited collection for Fashion's Night Out, and then, to the indignation of many who were chasing him, was re-released into the permanent.
Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb fragrance
I also have a female version of this fragrance, Flowerbomb, but I like the male Spicebomb much more. First, he has the perfect grenade-shaped bottle, terribly attractive visually and kinesthetically. You can open the aroma by pulling a check out of a grenade, - it protects the atomizer. Secondly, the fragrance itself is much more interesting than the sisterly one: unusual, hooligan and not at all like the classic men's fragrances. He smells like vetiver, tobacco and - for some reason - not aniseed with the composition.
Lipstick L'Oreal Rebel Red
Rouge Caresse translucent lipstick line was one of the first in the mass market, released on a wave of interest in balsam lip gloss. The hue of Rebel Red is for the beginning rebel: on the one hand, it is red lipstick, and on the other, it is so brilliant and loose that it gives only a hint of color and will suit any girl who thinks she cannot paint her lips brightly. I love these shades very much - bright, but not binding: they refresh the face without requiring a serious approach and a clear outline.
Maybelline Petal Rebel lipstick
Another representative of the budget balsam lipstick - sassy cold pink color, delicate, but not as transparent as it may seem in a sticky shade. In my opinion, the Color Whisper series, to which the lipstick belongs, has emerged as one of the most successful in its segment - pure non-ordinary colors and a pleasant gel texture that visually smoothes the lips.
Lipstick MAC Rebel
This lipstick is one of the top MAC bestsellers and a perpetual figure in the "10 Autumn Cosmetic Shopping" type lists. Luxurious bright plum-berry color, which makes the features brighter, teeth whiter, and the face - passionate and confident. It is believed that these shades are usually worn in winter and summer, but I love these lipsticks all year round - they are extremely useful for self-esteem.
L'Etoile Lipstick Uncensored
Many people treat their own brand of L'Etoile stores with prejudice, and for good reason: interesting and high-quality products are hidden in cheap plastic, and the fact that the brand did not invent a foreign story and logo speaks only in its favor. This spring, the brand has a bright (and pretty cool) Underground collection, many of which fit perfectly into this collection. I hesitated between Riot's fiery red lipstick and Orange Uncensored and chose the last one: it has a satin texture and a very rich shade of red orange, lips literally glow on the face.
Eyeliner Urban Decay Riot
Urban Decay is one of my favorite cosmetic brands that has everything perfectly: images, titles, packaging, and the products themselves. My main passion is pencil sets, which the brand produces with disarming regularity. It is thanks to UD that I began to sum up my eyes every day, and in 19 cases out of 20 I use UD pencils - they are the softest, most resistant, pigmented and they have the most interesting colors. The gray-purple brilliant hue of Riot was released in the Black Market Christmas set and is not sold separately, but the set can be found on eBay and in many online stores, and at a discount.
Christina Fitzgerald Freedom Nail Polish
The expensive salon brand Christina Fitzgerald has Australian roots, but it does main sales in Russia, which infinitely provokes conspiracy theories in the Russian beauty Internet. The founder of the brand names lacquers with human names in honor of friends and relatives, but, apparently, at some point she was tired of people (not for long) and several shades appeared under abstract names (Dream, Hope, Respect, Girlfriend), and all turned out to be successful. Freedom - my favorite brand: wildly beautiful neon-purple color, which also glows under ultraviolet lamps.
Blush NARS Liberte
Many blush NARS require a certain skill - they have unusual shades and incredible pigmentation, for that I love. The warm orange-apricot hue of Liberte, which has recently appeared in me, requires careful application and careful shading, otherwise there is a chance to look as if the cheek was the victim of a meeting with a hot frying pan. But if you choose a soft brush, Liberte will make the face rested and radiant, like after two weeks of vacation.
Illamasqua Lip Gloss
Beautiful and crazy British brand Illamasqua, perhaps the most uncompromising and interesting of all the major players in the cosmetic market. The make-up of Illamasqua is gaming, theatrical, and its motto is “Make-up for your alter ego”, which is always more interesting to me than just “emphasizing merits”. Lip gloss Shoot grass green shade is very cool, and for the color I am ready to forgive him some lack of density. I will not lie that I wear it every day, but it happens. And yes, it is beautiful.
