Deputy GQ chief editor Elena Smolin about favorite cosmetics
FOR THE FACE "HEAD" we study the contents of beauty cases, dressing tables and cosmetic bags of girls of interest to us - and show all this to you. The new heroine is Elena Smolina, deputy editor-in-chief of GQ.
About care
I can not say that I deliberately choose entire lines for care, with Shiseido somehow happened so accidentally. I was just looking for a good wash, a hot scrub was presented to me - I have no pronounced skin problems, but I am a fan of thorough cleansing. Most of the time, I’ll find out about new products from friends, but something gives me a chance to test the beautiful beauty department.
Once, as part of a press event, we were dragged to aromatherapy, and there we were allowed to sniff different oils, so that the aromatherapist would later describe you as an individual, based on what odors you choose. I was told that I was a finished woman, because all the smells that I like are fresh, and “feminine”, like roses, I reject. I don’t know if this is true, but I really love everything that is squeaky and fresh.
About decorative
I do not use tonal creams for several reasons: firstly, I don’t know how to apply them properly, and secondly, I realized that I can do without them. I do not need a lot of makeup: if I were leaving on an uninhabited island, I would put eye drops, mascara, lipstick and perfume in my makeup bag. It seems to me that any girl, when she first begins to use cosmetics, initially buys too much of everything that is not necessary at her age. I remember a trip to St. Petersburg with my 9th class, when I and all the girls after a sleepless night ran the next morning to disguise the traces of lack of sleep - which, of course, were not at that age.
I used to have a battery of shadows, but then everything superfluous was sifted out and only my favorite remained. Like plum, red and burgundy lipsticks and glitters - this is the easiest way to complete the image and even make the most ascetic one interesting. In the morning I don’t apply anything, or mascara and blush. In the evening - arrows and dim gloss or dark lipstick and light shadows.
About health and relaxation
I recently downloaded an application that helps me track water consumption, and now I drink it manic. Until now, however, I do not understand how you can drink as much as it counts. But I still notice the results: I cannot vouch for beauty, but my health condition has definitely become better.
I recently formulated why I like to run: this is one of the few healthy ways to improve my mood. When you come all excited from work, there are few options: you can drink, eat chocolate, go to the bath, take out someone's brain on the phone or put on sneakers and go outside. So, running is the safest way for me and those around me to fight with a bad mood.
