Healthy habits of the Wonderzine editor Olga Lukinskaya

IN THE RUBRIC "LIFESTYLE"we ask different people about healthy lifestyles with a human face: talking about the importance of taking care of yourself and pleasant ways to make life more comfortable. The heroine of the new release is the medical translator and editor of the Health section of the Wonderzine Olga Lukinskaya.

Feeling good for me - This is a condition where there is a lot of energy, I manage everything planned, and my muscles are slightly sore from the load.

My morning begins with a hug with a husband and son and good morning wishes to each other. I get up at about half-past nine, by nine I take the kid to the kindergarten, on the way back I buy a croissant for breakfast. At 9:05 I am at the computer with the first cup of coffee and a croissant.

I haven't used the alarm clock for five years, and this has greatly improved the quality of life. I wake up in the winter a little later, in the summer a little earlier. I start the alarm clock only in cases when it is necessary, for example, to get up at three and go to the airport - and in such a situation I will surely go to bed early to sleep at least eight hours.

I sleep ten or one hours, and sometimes longer. I work very quickly, make a lot of decisions for a limited time, as a result of which the brain seems to burn out by seven in the evening - after that I am no longer working. And for recovery you need many hours of sleep.

I have a strict schedule, and the appearance of the child helped him stick. While he is in kindergarten - from nine to five, I have exactly eight hours for two main works, additional projects and trainings. Then I take Christopher from the kindergarten, I walk with him for two or three hours, and after that I have a rest. At nine or ten in the evening I am in bed with a book, I read and quickly fall asleep.

I exercise regularly three to four times a week is the minimum. Fifteen years seriously swayed, but now it’s just that the decision-making resource is not enough: I think about so many different things that I don’t concentrate on the exercises. Six months ago, for the first time in my life, I began to go to group trainings - TRX and interval ones. Groups there are always small (five to seven people) and permanent, so progress is noticeable. I like the effect: the press has become very strong, the body is coordinated; in the rocking chair, after all, there was more isolation of individual muscle groups.

Every day I walk twelve to fifteen thousand steps and only ten thousand is an absolutely necessary minimum. For five years now I have been using the fitbit-clothespin and I am very worried about how they would stop producing them, because a bracelet is very inconvenient. I do not like to run, although a few years ago I even ran three half-marathon: in Barcelona, in Majorca and in San Francisco. It was just interesting how it was and if I could - of course, I could.

Without physical activity I immediately start to feel bad. Movement is my best and easiest way to feel healthy, strong and vigorous.

I eat terribly chaotic I do not like and do not know how to cook. One of the advantages of moving to Barcelona for me was the possibility of almost always being away from home - in Moscow it is too expensive.

For ten years now I have been keeping all the posts. Now the Christmas Fast is just coming, and I decided to make a super-effort over myself: to study and try to cook at home. Still, fasting is a refusal not so much from certain foods as from pleasures. It is difficult for me, but for now it turns out

About a month ago, for the first time in my life I bought a piece of raw fish: I came to the sandcade and honestly explained to the seller that this is the first time that I need to clean this piece of salmon from skin and bones and even cut it into pieces so that I don’t have to touch it at home. I met a complete understanding, smile and answer: "Of course, for this we work here." It turned out that they can completely clean any fish.

I drink a lot of coffee (from five to ten cups a day), it has no effect on me, just delicious. Recently, I accidentally drank a cup of green tea and could not sleep until three in the morning. Next year I want to experiment with tea and find a formula that allows you to be as active as possible during working hours, but fall asleep as early as usual.

I am a fan of spa, massage and sauna. When I am in Moscow, I always go with my best friend Anya to Presnensky baths. Since I am always too lazy to stretch, warming up helps to feel that the muscles are still relaxed.

When talking around, that psychotherapy is necessary for everyone and everyone, I decided to try it - I delved into myself, I formulated “problems”. The doctor said that generally they are not decided by psychotherapy, but by time management - and he was right. So I limited myself to one session.

I am the person who walks honestly on professional dental hygiene every six to seven months, once a year, photograph moles, wear compression socks on transatlantic flights, and never leave home without sunscreen.

When I worked as a clinical research specialist, I liked the regime most of all: eight to ten visits to various medical institutions per month. Even taking into account the combination of two business trips or part of the visits in the city where you live, you could get to the office once a week or less, but the number of flights per year reached one hundred. So I visited many cities in Russia and in 14 of the 17 autonomous regions of Spain.

Such work is very convenient. because it removes a lot of everyday issues from you: practically you don’t need to, for example, buy food or change bed-clothes there, because there are few at home. I would love to return to the mode in which 80% of working time is occupied by business trips when the child becomes slightly older - but only if we are taken to countries where it is better paid than in Spain.

I always write plans for the year - not promises, but plans. And doing them. In 2017, they included, for example, “renew the residence permit”, “register a marriage” and “add a book”. In 2018, he will "go to the play with Uma Thurman on Broadway," "choose a school for Christopher" (we go to school here in three years) and "go somewhere at least once every two weeks."

In Moscow for stress relief I sat behind the wheel in the evening, when the roads were already empty, and drove two or three laps around the Garden. Now I just walk, drink good wine and go to bed early.

I love to read and this year I read seventy books (I hope to finish two more before the chiming clock), five of them in Russian, two or three in Spanish, the rest in English. I usually read two at the same time, one in my eyes, and the other I listen in audio format, on walks or trainings, if I do one. I am proud that I do not download pirated books, but always honestly buy.

Traveling is my passion and my mood is always better, if you have an air ticket at hand somewhere. Most of all I love Latin America. This year, from the new places, the Azores, where I flew with a baby, really liked it - and now I want to return there with my whole family.
