Co-founder of the brand Mirstores Katya Kindras
FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE" we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell stories related to them. This week, our heroine is the co-founder of the Mirstores brand, Katya Kindras.
About five years ago, when I worked as an editor at Buro 24/7, I dressed quite simply: it was the heyday of the fashion blogosphere and street style with Anna Dello Russo at the head, and in any room I wanted to show myself brightly - with a kokoshnik on my head or in a suit with leopard print, like Stella McCartney. I had both, sometimes even in one image.
But over time, after graduating from university, changing jobs, I realized that I go out into people mostly in black, white, beige and classic denim, I invest only in shoes and bags, and in general it has become much easier and safer to treat myself - in short, matured. From a screaming past, only a couple of things have remained - accessories that I dilute the trench, my favorite denim jacket and black dresses, of which I have a million.
Now I mainly buy things in the mass market: I run in Uniqlo and Zara, I go to the sites & Other Stories and COS to find the perfect pair of jeans or a midi skirt in a pair of knitted things that my husband and I produce for our brand of knitted clothing Mirstores .
Trench and sandals - & Other Stories, Zara jeans, Reed Krakoff bag
Four years ago I was an intern at the Sapienza University in Rome, and my friend and I traveled almost the whole of Italy on trains. In Milan, said exactly on the opening day & Other Stories - as a result, I left there with an extra long trench and these velcro sandals. I wear a raincoat with jeans and sneakers, according to the laws of normcore, and like a dress, adding only shoes with a small heel. The Reed Krakoff crumbled bag with raffia inserts was ordered on Net-A-Porter at about the same stage of life.
COS shirt, Zara skirt, muley Truffle Collection, bag from Greece
I usually bring things COS myself or ask to bring friends and parents from trips. I wear this shirt both in a feast and in the world, with jeans or another black (but laced) midi skirt (others do not wear) from Zara.
I found the Mühli Truffle Collection on ASOS last year and still believe that this is one of the most beautiful models I've come across on-line and offline. By the way, I can say the same about other finds in ASOS - for example, a luxurious powder-colored dress with a train and open back, which I found there for the ridiculous money for the wedding of our friends.
A hippopotamus clutch is an item of unknown brand, which I, as a teenager, bought in Greece during the summer holidays with my parents. There are plenty of such things in my wardrobe, and all of them are priceless to me.
Uniqlo x Lemaire trousers, COS blouse, H & M shoes, Oliver Peoples glasses
Cargo pants from the Uniqlo x Lemaire collection became an experiment for me: usually I don’t wear such “heavy” pants, but for the sake of variety I bought this winter a pair of astrakhan fur coat and coarse boots. In the spring I put on with a white blouse and low-heeled shoes. These are the latest find in H & M. My friends say that I have a talent for finding shoes on the podium in the mass market, and I believe them. But the glasses Oliver Peoples as if once just appeared in my closet: I do not remember where I bought them at all.
Dress from Croatia, muly Truffle Collection
We bought this light dress with mom in a tiny shop in the city of Umag in Croatia during the summer holidays. I already knew that I would put him on a date with my future husband - and I was right.
Dress I AM Studio, Zara jeans, sneakers and earrings - Stradivarius, bag from China, glasses Urban Outfitters
I’m acquainted with I AM Studio designer Dasha Samkovich from the days of work at Buro 24/7, and in the first skirt of her brand I bought I met a very good year for myself. This season I will wear a dressing-gown over black jeans with white sneakers and a weightless green bag, which my friend Vasilisa brought me from China.
Jacket Mirstores, blouse from France, jeans Zara, shoes Manolo Blahnik, earrings Uterqüe
This spring, in any clear and incomprehensible weather for me, I wear a woolen jacket from the Mirstores collection: when it's hot, I put it over my T-shirt, and in cold weather I wear it under a trench coat or coat, depending on the severity of the weather conditions (for example, in May snow). My mother brought me a striped shirt from Megeve, France, and the silver Manolo shoes came to me in that year when my younger sister Lisa finished school: she went to her graduation party with her whole family, she was in a gold couple, and I was in a silver one.
Monki Dress, H & M Shoes, Anton Heunis Decoration, Bag from Greece
In Monki, as in Uniqlo and Zara, I go regularly - and almost always go out empty handed. This dress to some extent reflects my ideals of female sexuality: long, deaf, without a hint of a figure. I wear it with a high heel, flowing hair and another know-me handbag - I found it many years ago in one of the shops on the island of Corfu.
Mirstores dress, Prada shoes, Ek Thongprasert earrings
This image is a kind of my business card. Just like that, I met guests at the afterparty wedding this winter. And then, having changed shoes for sneakers, I went anywhere - for meetings with girlfriends, and for business dinners. In general, I fully felt the mission of this dress - to be a "day to night" thing: for a walk, and for work, and to a disco. And most importantly, it is so self-sufficient that it doesn’t require anything else - except the earrings Ek Thongprasert, the first gift of my then future husband.
Blouse I AM Studio, belt J.Kim, jeans Zara, Prada shoes
Last purchase in I AM Studio I wear with a J.Kim belt and black jeans. Together with Zhenya Kim we worked on my wedding dress (there was a photograph from the wedding of Julio Iglesias and Isabel Preisler and the lookbook of the last autumn collection of J.Kim) on the board, and I got the belt from him. I will definitely pass it by inheritance, but for now I wear it with shirts and blouses.
Customized Heartbeats x MORE is LOVE denim
I ordered this jeans from the founder of MORE is LOVE Nino Eliava and the Georgian brand Heartbeats a few years ago. Then, in collaboration with the online store MORE is LOVE, the brand produced jackets with lace and metallic inserts on the back. When it turned out that you can write your name on your back, I jumped for joy: after all, such inscriptions always got into the lenses of street-style photographers! This jacket has become one of the brightest things in my wardrobe (it still attracts everyone’s attention on the street) and one of the few that survived as I grew up. Now I wear it over summer dresses with a minimum of catchy accessories.
Anna Dello Russo x H & M Earrings
I wear it in the evening with minimal eye makeup, brick lipstick and a simple hairstyle.
Silk & Moss Earrings
A gift from a husband who loves to give jewelry and knows my taste perfectly. I wear with bustier dresses.
Vintage clips
I love vintage jewelry and often give them to my girlfriends. These clips brought from Milan. If I look at the map, I can draw a road to the store.
Points (top to bottom): Urban Outfitters, Uterqüe, Spitfire
My glasses form is round, sometimes square, others just do not suit me. Each new pair will remain forever: I never throw away my glasses.
Salvatore Ferragamo Bracelet, H & M Earring
Laconic decorations are my everything. The bracelet is a gift from Katya’s best friend, and bought a monosurf at H & M.
J.Kim brooch
Origami brooch is a New Year's gift from Eugene. I pin to the lapel of the trench coat and pocket jeans.
Vintage clutch
Vintage clutch, I do not know what years - for theatrical outputs.
Bag Maison Martin Margiela x H & M
When I was a fashion journalist, I collected things from the H & M collaborations. I don’t carry this bag often, on special occasions and in mood.
Perfume & Other Stories Fig Fiction, Dries Van Noten par Frederic Malle
I love complex flavors that are incomprehensible how to describe. Now I use Fig Fiction with notes of fig, bamboo, blackcurrant berries and plums.
Sandals marni
A story from the life of a fashion victim: I liked these Marni felt sandals so much that I had to order them twice. When the first couple arrived in Russia, for the first time in my online shopping experience, delivery difficulties arose, and they were sent back. Out of fear that they would buy my 36th size, I made another order on the same day and after a couple of weeks I ran into these sandals for work. I remember that for the first time I put them on with everything black: a leather skirt Giles to mid-calf and a turtleneck.
