Geyserny Alessi Pulcina coffee maker

WONDERZINE talks about interesting, useful, beautiful, strange or smart things you want to buy immediately.

The Italian brand of unbanned kitchen utensils and accessories Alessi is customary to love for shining chrome sides with whistling kettles, funny corkscrews, as well as clever use of colored plastic and irony. In general, for everything that makes the process of cooking and eating more playful and comfortable. Of course, like any Italians, they have a special place for coffee: there are a dozen vessels for brewing it in the brand’s catalog (mostly "geysers" in Italy and French presses). Now, in this series, a spectacular replenishment has appeared: at the London Design Festival presented the coffee machine Pulcina, the appearance of which was invented by the luminary of Italian postmodern design by Michele de Lucca.

One of the founders of the famous "Memphis Group" worked on this coffee machine in his country house, converted from a chicken coop - hence its name "Chick", and a peculiar form with a "beak". In addition to external beauty, the creators promise a small but important technological innovation that will minimize splashing of finished coffee from under the lid - everyone who dealt with "geyserki" knows what fraught for an extra second to linger at the stove. It will be produced in three versions, as is customary: one, three and six cups of espresso (converting it into numbers - 70, 150 and 300 ml). We found two more models in the UK Utility Design store - with both a red and a black handle - but soon the entire line should appear on a free market. Also on the official website of Alessi, you can leave a request, and you will be notified when all models are available.
