This summer, Wonderzine editor Rita Zubatova went to the show of the Belgian academies, in which Korean Xen Xie participated. She has not yet graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, but has shown a level head and shoulders above undergraduate students. The girl has created voluminous outerwear: red coats with fur crosses and fur coats with horror faces. To them was added scarlet bombers and angora dresses with stripes with the inscription "Fear", fur and leather tops and lacquer pencil skirts. As accessories - leather bandanas and clutches made of fur.

Hyun Xie was born and raised in Korea, she studied for a fashion designer in Seoul, but then decided to move to Antwerp and enroll in the famous Academy, which she graduated from "Antwerp Six", as well as Chris van Ash and Martin Margela. To date, the girl has released two collections. The latter, shown this summer, is inspired by the heroes of the movie, more precisely, the horror of Dario Argento. She noticed in his films rich women in furs and diamonds that turn out to be victims, and she wanted to make them younger and more modern. In a year, the girl will graduate from the Antwerp Academy and present the third collection, which she wants to make at the same time fit for life and experimental. We wait.

More and more people are interested in what was invented and made in Seoul - clothing or any other things. Young people in Korea are open to new brands and designers, which shows the changes taking place in our entire system. I saw it and understood that fashion is multidisciplinary and combines various aspects: ancient work techniques, media and even personal stories. Therefore, I decided to become a designer, and it is this mixture that nourishes my love for fashion. I never thought that I would study in a magistracy in Antwerp, but I managed to go there. We work hard for four years, and from about 60 people reach the end of training 10. But the teachers approach each of us very individually, and we can all concentrate on our understanding of beauty, rather than follow some kind of common weight. The main thing is to concentrate. The atmosphere contributes to this. Antwerp is a small gray city where I can go deep into myself. Especially given that winter lasts five or six months. Six months outside the window is dark and quiet, so I just stay at home and work. I would like to create clothes that will attract buyers. I do not want to become too avant-garde - it is a scourge of students, so I always consult with completely different people about what I sew. I do not even know who can become my client.
