Artist Elena Mosyakina about favorite outfits

FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE"we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell related stories. This week our heroine is the artist Elena Mosyakina, whom we asked to show our outfits and our works.

In childhood, my sister and I were dressed up exactly the same,as twins - we went up to twelve years. I always liked unusual things that seemed not to be combined with each other. Mom, unfortunately, was categorically against such a style of dressing and buying what she thought was "suitable for the girl" - but then still put up with my "strange" style.

My search for myself as an artist left an imprint on the choice of clothes. The way I look is influenced by the way I work - mostly I make collages, I use contrasts - and the topics that I touch on - say, “the person of the future”. I watch fashion, watch shows. I really like what Demna Gvasalia does and how Lotte Volkova stylizes - such an "apocalyptic underground". It really inspires me.

I used to dress in the mass market, but now I try to buy things in second-hand or on vintage markets. And also, since I often work with paints, I just feel sorry for some things. I never wear skirts and shoes and do not wear "feminine" - I am uncomfortable in such clothes. I can go for a walk in what went home, and in general I try not to bother about the appearance.
