Orgasm from the heel: How different women masturbate

For a long time, my way of masturbation seemed to me strange and embarrassing: at the age of five I got orgasms while climbing a rope or squeezing gymnastic rings with my hips. Fifteen years after graduating from school and saying goodbye to masturbation sportswear in my life did not exist at all: I was embarrassed to even tell my girls and gynecologists about this method, but I could not find a suitable one from the “right” ones. The fact that women get detented using a variety of practices, I realized when I began to read research and ask friends and subscribers about how they masturbate.

Well-known sex researcher Emily Nagoski writes that the majority of her students represent female masturbation as vaginal penetration - this image is so common that I myself only believed in it for a long time. However, according to research, hardly more than 20% of women masturbate with vaginal penetration. Even stimulating the clitoris with your fingers or a water jet is only one of the vast mass of available practices.

Probably, if we were told more often about how we could enjoy differently, and the very theme of masturbation was not held behind seven seals, we could avoid doubts about the normality of our desires. To dot the i's, I asked dozens of women, as well as non-binary and trans * people with vagina, about their masturbation methods.

Muscle masturbation

When I thought that there was a "normal" format of masturbation, I was embarrassed for my "ridiculous" body movements: I wrapped my feet around the suspensions of gymnastic rings and pulled up on my arms - my muscles tensed, and the rings pressed on the vulva and accelerated the onset of orgasm. It seemed to me that something was wrong with my body and hardly anyone else would engage in such "strange" things. Then I did not have the opportunity to learn that muscular, or myotonic, masturbation is a common phenomenon. Understand that everything is in order with me, I was able to get acquainted with other people's stories of relations with horizontal bars, ropes and sports loads. “At gymnastics classes, I just adored to pull myself up - and at the same time I especially tightly pressed my hips”; "I especially enjoyed the exercise" lifting with a coup "" - I wrote to the respondent.

Muscle masturbation practices are very thoughtful: “In order to masturbate, I have to stand in the knee-elbow position,” says L. “I cross my legs so that my right leg is closer to the body, and the left leg is further and a little straightened. In this position, I start moving the pelvis, straining the internal muscles of the thigh and, apparently, some of the inguinal muscles. At the same time, I can adjust the intensity of stimulation by straightening my arms or bending them. I get the maximum discharge in this position. "

Similarly, the sex-practice M requires: “I always lie on my left side and in a certain way twist my legs, counterclockwise. If you bind them the other way around, the focus will not work.” In a large-scale study of sexuality, published by sexologist Alfred Charles Kinsey (1953, 6,000 participants), 10% of women said that they masturbate by squeezing their hips, and 5% - "straining their muscles." A relatively recent study by Ana Carvalheira and Isabelle Leal (2013, 3,687 participants) showed that they squeeze their hips to achieve an orgasm 9.3% of respondents.

I also liked to masturbate with a full bladder. It turned out that I was not so alone: many women are additionally excited when they want to go to the toilet. T. writes: "I manage to feel pleasure when I want to go to the toilet, but I hold back, tense my muscles and think of someone I like, or presenting something exciting." Some respondents wrote to me that they specifically put pressure on the bladder during masturbation in order to increase sensations.

Not only sex toys

When the rope in my life was gone, I began to look for other ways to relieve sexual tension myself. In a study by Carvalheira and Lil, 16% of women masturbated by placing a pillow between their legs or "something like that that put pressure on their genitals." Another 5.5% sat on any surface (sofa, chair, railing, etc.). In the Shiri Heit study, 4% of respondents reported that they were working on a vulva or clitoris using a soft object.

I learned that women rub against different surfaces and things while sitting, lying on their stomachs and on their side, straightening and straining their legs to muscle pain or bending them in a special way. Some simply pinch something in the perineum, some put pressure on the lower abdomen, opposite the uterus. I myself managed to feel pleasant sensations, pinching between my legs a rolled-up blanket or a stretched towel, swaying on the arm of the chair and even just riding a bicycle. These practices did not lead to orgasm, but they made you think: how many things around that women use for sexual pleasure alone?

"For me, it doesn’t matter what kind of object will put pressure on sensitive places," Z. shares her experience. "Fingers, thighs, heel, corner of the table, shower jet, eraser, which I put on my office chair, pencil tip through clothes, bicycle saddle, rolled up blanket or pillow, towel, vegetables and fruits, a book, a vial, any suitable toy, drops of alcohol that burn the mucous membrane, hairbrush ... "

Communicating with the respondents, I often experienced embarrassment, embarrassment, and admiration for the courage of women telling about their practices despite stigma. K. wrote that she was masturbating with a plastic doll: "I rub the puppet hair with the clitoris and vulva, and sometimes I insert it with my feet forward into the vagina." D. says that the toothbrush handle fits her much better than tested sex toys: "She is the most comfortable and not as thick as, say, the tip of a vibrator." T. recalls that as a child she sat on a roll of wallpaper, and S. — as before putting sex devices on the market, put a condom on a bottle of deodorant.

“Women really use a variety of objects for masturbation,” the gynecologist Kristina Potareyeva agrees. “The main thing is to approach everything wisely. Such things should not have sharp or traumatic surface parts, so as not to damage the skin or mucous membrane. It’s always possible remove the entire object - for example, so that the deodorant cap does not get stuck inside. Finally, it is important to hygiene and sanitize both sex toys and other items with which you touch the mucous membrane. "

Amplifiers of sensations

Masturbating, women not only stimulate the genitals, but also use a lot of accompanying techniques. Some prefer to masturbate in clothes: someone to reduce the sensitivity of the clitoris, someone to increase the sensations. "I have my favorite denim shorts, the seam of which in a certain position puts pressure on the clitoris. In them I masturbate with my legs crossed and wiggling a little on the chair," says M. As a child, I also put on jeans before masturbating with rope or rings : on the one hand, dense tissue pleasantly stimulated the vulva, on the other hand, it protected against excessive friction. V. says that he can get a strong orgasm using only clothes: he pulls on his underpants with his hand so that the fabric presses against the clitoris.

Christina Potareyeva warns that in this case it is important not to forget about the rules of hygiene: "If you are confident in the cleanliness of the laundry, then everything is all right, but if not, it is better to wear a clean one. Remember that it is easy to injure the mucous and rub it with a cloth. Finally, the lingerie after this type of masturbation should be sent to the laundry, "- says the specialist.

Some people experience sexual pleasure more acutely if they open their mouth when excited. “It may seem strange, but it works for me: I open my mouth in a special way: as if only upwards, while straining my lips. This makes excitement immediately increase many times,” says B. and notes that she also likes to specifically touch her lips and tongue. R. during masturbation likes to feel that his mouth is busy with something. She says that sometimes with one hand she stimulates the clitoris and vulva, and puts several fingers of the second hand in her mouth: “I just suck or move them. I also like to change hands and feel the taste of the vagina”.

From K., I was surprised to learn that some people connect respiratory techniques to myotonic masturbation: "Standing on straight legs, mentally run through the body, twisting the tension in the right areas: I bring the muscles of the pelvic floor and anus into tone, I strain and pull the hips forward "I flex in the lower back and at the same time with my hands I stimulate the vulva. Orgasm occurs very quickly. Recently, I like to additionally experiment with different breathing techniques to enhance arousal." N. said that she had a “completely respiratory way of masturbation”: “I fantasize about something sexual, at the same time I hold my breath, and then slowly exhale. At the same time, on exhalation, the excitement grows very quickly and strongly. I can excite myself very much, before the pulsation in the clitoris. "

Extragenital masturbation

"I think that masturbation is a stimulation not only of the perineum, but also of other erogenous zones. Any actions that bring pleasure can be masturbation. To survive the strong feelings, I stroke my cold fingers with my cold fingers. My friend bites the fingertips," - shared her thoughts A. Many women masturbate without touching their genitals even indirectly: for example, many simply stimulate the nipples. D. said that she gets on all fours and rubs her nipples on the bed, N. - that touches her breasts and piercing in the nipples. In the Kinsey study, 11% of respondents reported this type of masturbation.

Some women complement masturbation with anus stimulation, and some use it as an independent technique: they penetrate the anus with a finger or sex toys. It is the same with fantasies: someone “watches the movie in the head” and touches himself, for someone only the power of imagination is enough. "My brain does everything instead of me," describes his practice. D. - I just imagine that I masturbate and look at myself as if from the side. In the study, Kinsey masturbated using only fantasy, 2% of respondents. In addition, I learned from several creative people that they write erotic stories or draw something exciting to get strong feelings.

Left heel

Listening to how different women indulge themselves, I mentally tried them on myself. About "heel masturbation" I was told quite often. "I was sitting on the floor on my knees, and somehow it turned out that the heel was under the clitoris - suddenly I felt something pleasant. With a few movements, and suddenly I experienced an orgasm," most of the stories sounded like that. Many told that they discovered this method of masturbation in childhood, and I remembered that I myself also did something similar. Although at the time it did not give much "effect", I decided to try again.

One day, when I was alone at home and felt excited, I put my heel under my crotch and began to sway slowly on it. I managed to catch a comfortable rhythm fairly quickly, but the stimulation did not seem to me particularly pleasant. Soon I realized what my mistake was: I used pressure on the outer part of the clitoris (as many of my respondents did), although I never liked the clitoral stimulation. I guessed to move the heel under the perineum (the area between the anus and the vulva), which I jokingly say that "I have it instead of the clitoris" - because the impact on it leads me to orgasm. With perineum the process went more fun, and I wondered if I could finish.

An orgasm is not always important for me in partner sex, but I planned to use masturbation to discharge it, so I worked for the result. My first experiences of "heel masturbation" passed without orgasm. That is, at some point I simply understood that "everything was over": the discharge seemed to have already happened, but I did not notice any vivid sensations. However, after a couple of workouts, I managed to catch the light pleasant sensations, and soon the “from the heel” orgasm really looked like an orgasm. So after fifteen years of “abstinence,” I learned that I still can masturbate.
