PR-director of "Abrau-Dyurso" Maria Bogdankevich about favorite cosmetics

FOR THE FACE "HEAD" we study the contents of beauty cases, dressing tables and cosmetic bags of interesting characters to us - and we show all this to you.

About beauty

For almost ten years I have worked as a beauty editor and director in various publications and have written kilometers of texts about beauty, care and fragrances; I tried almost everything that was and is on the Russian market. Then there was work on the other side of the barricades - in the PR of cosmetic brands. Strangely enough, I didn’t have a special craving for cosmetics and beauty since childhood; I didn’t even read sections of the same name in magazines until I started writing about it myself. It turned out sucks. Despite all this, I am conservative in fragrances, I approach functional cosmetics especially functional - I have to look decent and spend a minimum of time on this, but leaving is my everything. Creams, masks, oils, and then massage, spa, the smell of algae, all sorts of herbs and vitamins, superfoods and healthy drinks, wellness practices, etc. - then I die. I need everything and more.

About care

I have three rituals: day, evening and holiday (or weekend). The morning begins with the Valmont Prime Renewing Pack mask, which I take out of the refrigerator and put it on my face in a semi-conscious state. I once thought that Valmont is for Swiss old women who are walking slowly around the lake in Montreux, and caring for their wrinkles. It turned out that this is really incredible makeup and, in my opinion, one of the few that is worth its space money. The next mandatory thing - eye contour cream. Here I have no big requests, let it be a gel with a roller, they are excellent for a variety of brands, even inexpensive ones. I do not know, it produces a special eye contour cream, but the habit is stronger. I have a dense and oily skin, so I usually limit myself to tonic and cream. In addition to Valmont, I also use L'Occitane, Clarins, Clinique, Saudalie, Dr. Jart +, try new easily and joyfully.

For the body, the favorite morning ritual is Clarins tonic oil. Firstly, what is his flavor, the whole bath then smells like that. Secondly, wakes and invigorates. The trick is to apply it on wet skin from top to bottom, wait a minute and gently rinse with cool water. Excellent body creams from the Greek brand Korres and from our Organic Shop. Now I still smear problem areas with stretch marks cream. It would be necessary twice a day, but I sometimes forget. Actually, this is the only thing that changed care during pregnancy. I think that the presence of stretch marks is still genetics, the general condition and elasticity of the skin before, and not the cream is already in process.

In the evening I pay more attention to purification. Make-up is washed off with micellar water - a brilliant invention, but I like to wash with foam. Perfect skins make Pola. On the face cleaned up to a squeak I can put serum. If not laziness, I make masks. Fabrics, especially Korean ones, are in fashion now, but I’m not used to them anyway, so I cowardly give preference to regular cream, cleansing or moisturizing. Just before bedtime - a time of fat cream or better than butter. I generally love oils: they require more time and are slightly less convenient than cream, but more ritual. Warm up in your palms, apply on face, gently massage, it is better to lie down. I noticed that the difference is true: if you slightly “bruise” your face for the night - it does not matter if you follow the YouTube clip or as a spy for a cosmetologist, - the next morning the look is more blooming. Well, and in general, these 5-10 minutes in the evening - my ritual of calm and going to bed.

On vacation I take scrubs, face masks and hair masks, I take a bath for a long time. Most of all I love the algae bath. Thalgo has micronized algae in powder and all talasso brands. I know that for many they smell like rotten fish, for me it is the smell of a healthy lifestyle and relaxation.

About hair, fragrances and sun protection

My hair is docile: you should rarely wash them, the main thing is not to irritate the scalp. In this regard, I have two pets - Aveda and Leonor Greyl. As the husband observes: "What the fuck is, why don't your shampoos foam?" This is true because they are natural, without aggressive surfactants. I do not give them to my husband, otherwise he will pour out half a bottle of the most valuable tool in the hopeless hope of getting foam. I love all the rituals for hair before washing: carefully comb them, apply oil, walk around with it, then wash your hair, rinse with cold water, lie down with a hair mask.

Once every two months I color myself from my middle Russian to a complex blonde with color transitions and highlights, toning, and bronzing. It takes five hours and more - horror, but then enough for two months. Another colleague somehow persuaded me to comb Tangle Teezer. At first I was skeptical - some kind of plastic garbage, unlike any wooden, stylish with an exotic nap. It turned out that this is the only tool that unravels hair in seconds, even if you bathed in the sea from the evening, forgot to wash your hair, fell asleep and woke up with a nest on your head.

I have a long and strong relationship with flavors. Sycomore in the Chanel collection was released about eight years ago, since then I adore it - it is strange, it smells like hemp. It was about the same time that Chanel No. 5 was imbued with: I always thought that it was for my grandmothers, such a mothball, but somehow I interviewed Jacques Polge, the perfumer Chanel, and he persuaded me. Another favorite is Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria, for me the best citrus summer fragrance for ten years in a row.

A separate topic is the sun. I do not like sunbathing, heat and bright sun, and even more - burn and blush. The nightmare of my childhood was the sun in March on Elbrus, where we went with our parents to ski. There were no sun-protection agents then, Nivea was in a blue jar, with which I diligently smeared my face, and still, of course, I was brutally burnt. Luckily for me, there was no limit when, at 10 years old, I got into the hands of the first small tube of cream with SPF. Since then, SPF - my must in the summer in the city, on the sea and in the mountains, in creams and tonalnikah. In general, I am one of those people who run after friends on the beach asking to “anoint”.

About good habits

The statement "What is in the stomach is on the face", in my opinion, is absolutely true. I believe that creams and cosmetics in general work, but this is not magic. It is impossible to look at 50 years at 20, if you always have donuts and drink cola - the consequences for the skin are inevitable. Of course, the elasticity of the skin from the inside can also be affected - vitamins, dietary supplements, and for the condition of the skin and hair is very important indoor humidity. Yoga and specifically shavasana teaches to relax the face, I so with the effort of will disaccustomed myself to wince when I noticed the hall on the bridge of the nose. Watch for facial expressions, wear sunglasses, so as not to frown on the sun, and relax your facial muscles at least before bedtime. The latter also helps to sleep, and without sleep there is no beauty at all - it is not even discussed.

There was a period when I did not eat gluten and was fond of all sorts of superfoods, green smoothies and other useful chips. It quickly got tired, but some habits remained: I began to eat less sweet and in general pay attention to what I eat. Perhaps, I really don’t have enough habits to regularly dye and style my hair, I envy women who can do it and always look impeccable. I'm lazy. And after thirty it is already difficult to shine with natural beauty.
