Editor'S Choice - 2024

Anna Pesonen, junior fashion editor for the Finnish magazine SSAW

Before you - our permanent heading "Wardrobe". For her, we take pictures of our favorite things beautifully, distinctively or strangely dressed people and ask them to tell stories that are connected with these things. In the new material - fashion editor of the Finnish magazine SSAW and a lover of local brands, who are now in love with us, Anna Pesonen.

Heikki Salonen sweater, Balenciaga boots

This Heikki Salonen sweater is so cozy. I feel very relaxed and even childish in it.

I pre-ordered these Balenciaga shoes at the moment when I saw them on the podium. Their quality is impeccable, it is the best pair of shoes that I have ever had. But I wear them so often that I'm afraid they will fall apart soon. I feel it will soon have to carry them to the shoemaker. Again.

Dries Van Noten shirt and shorts

My friend is going to marry this summer, and I want to wear silk shorts and a Dries Van Noten blouse for the holiday. This is a very comfortable clothes, you can just jump into it in the morning and go somewhere, not thinking whether it is not too.

I really like prints. Latina makes the most beautiful together with the photographer Chris Vidalo.

Laitinen dress, Ann Demeulemeester sandals

This is a black dress from a mixture of silk and wool from the collection of Laitinen ss09. The first time I put it on to the party on the occasion of the launch of our magazine SSAW, which was the best lately: we danced like crazy all night. Barista was told to turn off the music at four in the morning, but we got permission for the last song - it was "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

Ann Demeulemeester suede insole sandals painted my foot black and I couldn’t wash it for about a week.

Laitinen sweater and skirt, Balenciaga boots

I like the crimson hue of a sweater and skirt. These are unique items from the Laitinen collection for the Mango Fashion Awards. This sweater is knitted by hand by a beautiful woman, who is also named Anna. I would be happy if Laitinen continued making clothes for women. Their latest collection, the 2008/2009 season, was one of my favorite ones in the world.

My foot size is 36, but I couldn't help but buy these Balenciaga shoes with metal buttons on the sole. They are great for me as much as two sizes.

Sweaters (top to bottom): Laitinen, Laitinen, Heikki Salonen

I love big and shaggy sweaters. Two reds from Laitinen, black from Heikki Salonen.

Heikki Salonen costume, dresses and AE silk shirt

I mostly wear black, but in the summer I fell in love with white total-bows.

Heikki Salonen did everything, except for the dress and silk shirt of the Finnish brand AE - two super talented, beautiful and smart girls stand behind it. I hope they go far.

Heikki Salonen dress, Dr. shoes. Martens

The Heikki Salonen turtleneck dress with detachable sleeves is one of the favorite things in my wardrobe. In it, I feel very light and protected.

I have a lot of pairs Dr. Martens. The most beautiful - vintage.

Laitinen Costume, Ann Demeulemeester Ankle Boots

This trouser suit is stunning in its details. Everything I wear is Laitinen, with the exception of the old Ann Demeulemeester shoes.

Heikki Salonen bomber and jeans, Dr. Martens boots

As such, I go out into the street every other day. On jeans, tons of stripes and crystals. If I were offered to turn into any thing, I would choose these jeans - I just adore them.

Vest heikki salonen

Heikki Salonen is my favorite brand in the world. Sometimes it seems to me that they read my thoughts, creating clothes in which I 100% feel "myself." This is a very important thing that gives strength and protection.

The vest is the perfect example of clothes that I love - perfectly tailored and with interesting details.

Bomber laitinen

I do not know why, but I collect bombers. This one was perfectly made by Laitinen. He reminds me of Amelia Earhart.

Heikki Salonen knee-highs, Converse sneakers, Raf Simons backpack

In these hand-made Heikki Salonen golf courses, I feel young and innocent. I have the same in black.

Some time ago I was shooting for a single advertising campaign, where I needed to paint a frame with a can. That day I was in Converse, and, having finished, I realized that I had soiled them a little. In the end, I decided to finish them and paint them completely white.

The old Raf Simons backpack is uncomfortable, but insanely beautiful. In all this, at once I look like a postman.

Yohji Yamamoto Creepers

One of my closest friends has the same pair of creepers. We work together, I think some people just think that we wear the same pair. I love them very much.

Ankle Boots Dries Van Noten

Wonderful shoe boots that I rarely wear. I wish they were a little more.

Shoes (from left to right): A.F. Vandevorst, J.W.Anderson, Dr. Martens

Ankle boots from the FW 2010/2011 collection - the best that A.F. Vandevorst ever done. Something rough, but proportionally perfect, is in the combination of this heavy heel and round nose.

Speaking of coarse shoes: I bought these J.W.Anderson pony furs for a sale. I usually wear them when I feel depressed or sad (for example, on a rainy day, when I don’t have to do this, in general) - they always raise my spirits. The same with martins.

Accessories (from left to right, top to bottom): Dyptique candles, Helmut Lang bracelets, pendant, vintage, corners for a Balenciaga shirt, pentagram, a friend's gift, Ann Demeulemeester leather pendants

The leather wristband and the old Helmut Lang bracelet are my favorite jewels. My grandfather, who was a jeweler, made the pendant.

Although I'm not a big fan of accessories, Ann Demeulemeester leather wallets hang around my neck all the time.

Smells are very important to me, so I collect perfumes and scented candles. Now I am obsessed with "Myrthe" Dyptique.

I have never worn these corners for a Balenciaga collar. I have a shirt to which they are already attached, but I don’t wear it anyway - I like them just as a decorative element, ornament.

I received a pentagram from my friend when I flew to Italy that year. He hates airplanes, so he gave it to me to protect from the bad. This is a symbol of protection.

Heikki Salonen belt, glasses Jean Paul Gaultier

Heikki Salonen belt I wear almost every day. It fits absolutely everything. Jean Paul Gaultier's vintage glasses are incredibly beautiful, but my eyes are burning when I wear them: they are so old that they crease the skin around. I still have no other points.

Perfume (left-to-right): Patchouli Rose by Mad & Len, Ouarzazate, Dyptique, Standard by Comme des Carcons, Sequoia

I'm crazy about perfume. I like heavy and sharp smells. Sometimes I use really masculine fragrances, but their smell softens on my skin. It is interesting how the perfume adapts to the person and deforms his smell to the smell of his skin.
