What will be fashionable in six months: Trends from the catwalks

Every six months we watch fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris and talk about the new trends that showed them designers, and which will be relevant in the future season. You should not take fashion trends as persistent rules - rather, as clues, and how to diversify your usual wardrobe. Indeed, on the eve of winter, thinking about what will happen in the spring is a special pleasure.

Frill

Once exclusively synonymous with femininity and an indispensable element of the Gothic image, frills are becoming more diverse, and the associative series associated with them is wider. Delpozo dresses are inspired by Klimt's sweetheart, Austrian designer Emilia Floge, who knew how to wear ruffles like no other, J.W. overalls Anderson - "new romantics" from the 80s, and skirts Alexander McQueen - the Huguenots who moved to London from France in the XVII century, and their work with silk, that is, all the same Victorian era. Designers also argue that the perception of frills as a peculiarly girlish decor is outdated. And yet in everyday life, romantic frills are best combined with something simple - otherwise there is always the risk of overdoing.

Very long sleeves

Experiments with huge sizes and volumes, on the one hand, and a return to the 90th and grunge, on the other, led to a new trend - very long sleeves, completely hiding the hands. Perhaps this is the most notable trend from the entire list, taken on board even traditional brands, far from provocations. The idea is the same - to create an effect of protection, designed to hide hands, as it were. Touching, like Pierrot, strict shirts and shirt-type dresses from Sportmax; striped vests, peeking out from under his coat, in Max Mara; wide, awkward, at the same time due to the transparent and thin organza very feminine blouses from Nina Ricci and knitted sweaters from Derek Lam - a real salvation for those who always freeze their hands.

Round shoulders

Without going into particular, the trend for round shoulders is associated with an interest in the 80s, which reminded of itself six months ago. In the same season, the round shoulders could be seen in large numbers at the shows of brands that are to the classics, like Lanvin. The last big return of hypertrophied shoulders, we saw, it would seem, not so long ago, and some brands, including Balenciaga, show them at all every season, since this has historically been part of their aesthetics. In his fall-winter 2012 collection, Nicolas Gheskyer created the so-called statement piece - a sweater with round shoulders and a print in the form of a frame from Star Wars, which a year later, due to the abundant appearance in streetblogs, had time to grind even those who were far away from the world of fashion. We are afraid that the same fate can be comprehended by the beautiful cropped sweaters of Raf Simons, which will certainly be equally popular.

Laces and Ribbons

Last season, we learned to tie a discreet bow of thin ribbon around the neck, and in new collections they are already everywhere - both as part of a blouse and as a separate accessory. For the next summer, Phoebe Failo made sophisticated tops, in which a long knitted strip of fabric, carelessly fluttering when moving, is part of the strap; Isabelle Maran - leather jewelry on the neck, resembling a bundle of shoelaces, and Raf Simons and Alber Elbaz used simple ribbons as a touching substitute for hair ties. By the way, silk bows and thin long scarves also do not lose positions - they can already be found in every store of the mass market.

Sundress + shirt or top

Designers continue to rethink layering. Not the summer trend (but in the cold season is just right), and yet we saw the combination of a light dress and a contrasting texture and color of a shirt or top at almost all four fashion weeks. This peculiar echo of the fashion of the 60s could be seen in Emilio Pucci, Prada and even Vetements. We believe that nothing prevents us from adopting this method now - together with a coat and a park, such a combination looks even more interesting.

Silver

Fashion on things with a metallic sheen and does not think to retreat. Now it is not only about accessories - designers sew from materials similar to foil, luxurious dresses, wide trousers and full suits. Real retrofuturism in action.

Bags of the rigid form with the small handle

For a long time, backpacks and bags with a long thin strap overshadowed all others. But in the spring we are offered an alternative - tightly shaped bags with a short strap: these can be found in any vintage store. In order not to become like a bad version of the Stepford wife, you should not combine a vintage copy with something frankly classic, like a kerchief square or a discreet striped suit. But the bags with a short strap in the new interpretation fit everything: Lanvin suggest wearing them with a coat of straight cut, Giambattista Valli - with printed costumes, Chanel - with “new” tweed, and Céline - with tops in lingerie.

Sandals on the platform

It is unlikely that in the near future we can expect that rough sandals, similar to orthopedic, will disappear from sight. In the future season, the model that many people will love will rise to a new height - the options with the platform can be seen in the shows of the main accessories brands: Chanel and Louis Vuitton. You can wear such with anything - with an A-silhouette doll dress and with a strict suit they look equally cool.

Things of huge sizes and volumes

We have already talked about androgynous hypersise - a tendency towards very large clothing and supervolumes. Well, we have to admit that the past weeks only strengthened the belief that the future is not for provocative feminine brands, but for comfort, practicality and convenience. Perhaps coveralls with incredible shoulders J.W. Anderson, Rosie Assoulin baggy trousers, Marques'Almeida baggy coats and Miu Miu guipure look look a bit theatrical at first glance, but most closely match the spirit of the times.

Bare shoulders

It seems that the mother's phrase “straighten your shoulders” next summer will have to be kept in my head all the time. Such an abundance of shirts, blouses and dresses with bare shoulders did not happen in fashion weeks for a long time, even though this is a traditional trend for summer. It is interesting, first of all, that the greatest potential of things with bare shoulders is revealed not by brands that pedal the notorious femininity, but by those who are close to the simplicity of lines or sports subjects.

Embroidery

Fashion brands all the time resort to traditional techniques, including embroidery. Thanks to modern materials and methods of processing, embroidery on clothes today can look like a real work of art. Most of all this technique is loved to use when creating couture collections, using manual labor, but there is much to look at in regular collections. This season you should pay attention to Emilio Pucci, Valentino, Delpozo and, of course, Gucci, whose latest collection consists almost entirely of suits and accessories with embroidery and fabric imitating it.

Long earrings

Long earrings first appeared in cruise collections - from Gucci to Valentino, but the designers unanimously decided to transfer them to the shows of the spring-summer season. At this time, geometric shapes and unusual materials are at the forefront. The most interesting options are Céline and Salvatore Ferragamo.
