Oregon-born Hayley Hashbrook signed a contract with Elite last summer, and four weeks ago, she and her mom went to conquer New York. Alternating casting and homework, the girl gained experience and planned to try her hand at the Paris shows. Mom Haley never understood fashion, but her aunt has been working in the industry for many years and prepared her for the start of shows.
“My mom doesn’t understand fashion and doesn’t understand the importance of some things. Well, you know, she’s from Oregon and she doesn’t know what Proenza Schouler is,” Hayley told WWD.
As part of New York shows, Hayley walked on Theyskens' Theory, Lacoste, Proenza Schouler, Victoria by Victoria Beckham, but her main collaboration was with Marc Jacobs and participation in his Marc Jacobs show and Marc by Marc Jacobs. A few days after the casting, one of the designer’s shows was called back and she was told that Mark would like to meet her in person. As a result, she received not only work, but also gifts from Jacobs' main line: a bag, a dress, a jacket, and shoes. In Paris, Haley went alone and made the show Sonia Rykiel.
