Editor'S Choice - 2024

On the "Hollywood" cover Vanity Fair was too smart with Photoshop

This year, Vanity Fair magazine traditionally made a "Hollywood" issue dedicated to the main figures of the film industry, and placed on its cover 13 actors and actresses, as well as journalist Graydon Carter, who headed the publication for 25 years. Oprah Winfrey, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hanks shot for one of the covers.

Attentive Twitter users immediately noticed that not everything was in order with star photography: Reese Witherspoon had three legs.

Later, traces of retouching were noticed in the photoshoots from the backstage of the photo shoot: this time, Oprah was not lucky - she was drawn a third hand.

Later, Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey commented on the situation on Twitter and skillfully translated everything into a joke. “Well, I suppose now everyone is aware of it - I have three legs. I hope you can accept me for who I am,” Witherspoon wrote. To which Oprah answered already in her twitter: "I accept your third leg. After all, you accept my third hand."

Also, the Vanity Fair editorial staff said that at the last moment it was decided not to put James Francoa on the cover, and explained this by saying that recently five women who had accused him of harassment spoke out against the actor.
