Interview with Manish Arora
Before showing Manish Arora in St. Petersburg correspondentsSlickwalk.com on the assignment of Look At Me, met the designer and asked him a few questions.
- Did you have time to walk in St. Petersburg?
- Yes of course. My coordinator and I visited quite a lot.
- Have you been to Moscow?
- Not yet, I am the first time in Russia.
“Now you can buy Manish Arora things in Moscow, right?
- Yes, they are already there.
- Maybe you noticed something special about how people dress up here?
- I think the locals have a special style, and that's fine. Many people understand what is now fashionable.
- Do you mean young people?
- I walked through the streets, I saw people. Many have an individual style of dress.
- Now we are simply in such a place where fashion industry figures have gathered.
- I do not say "bad" is fashion or "good." But I see attempts to follow it.
- At least try, right?
- This is exactly what I had in mind.
- Your collections are known for their extraordinary, fantasy design. Is it possible to wear some items during the day or are they intended only for shows and outlets?
- Of course, really! It depends on the nature of a particular person. It is not necessary to reproduce the entire bow - you can use some kind of detail.
- Is your client a cheerful person?
- Probably. It is difficult to imagine a sad person in my clothes.
- Would you prefer to have more clients among ordinary people who have money, or among actors, musicians and others?
- I would like equally those and others. Among the latter are already Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Rihanna. But I would like little people to wear my things.
