To the very goal: Girls about the best cosmetic gifts

Cosmetics give is not so easy: "anti-cellulite" cream can offend the addressee, but with a perfume or a touch of lipstick is easy to miscalculate. In anticipation of the New Year’s boom, we asked five girls about the best cosmetic gift they received in their lives.

Louis Philippe Mascara and Polish Shadows

I love cosmetics very much - especially everything that concerns body care. For me, this is something about the joy of life, original rituals of pleasure and self-love. Friends know this and constantly give me some creams, lotions, oils. But that is why it is difficult for me to single out one thing: I really appreciate diversity. I have the whole bathroom filled with these jars with floral and fruity smells. I like to discover and bring home various interesting brands from all countries.

of the world. Laline in Israel, Apivita in Greece, some secret French funds that only local people know about.

But if we talk about the very most memorable gift, then, probably, it was still my first decorative cosmetics, a gift from my mother. I was about thirteen or fourteen. Then there was a shortage around, so in the cosmetics bags of young girls, and of adult women, everything was very bizarre: some expensive cream Estée Lauder coexisted with a terrible penny varnish that immediately peeled off. It was possible to “get it” by standing in line. And so my mother gave me tender lilac shadows, I don’t remember their brand at all, it seems that something Polish, and also - Louis Philippe mascara (it seems that it was called that way). I remember how these boxes looked, I remember them by touch, I even remember the shade of shadows.

It was some kind of magic: Mom was very supportive in wanting to decorate herself, but there was no “you're a girl” at the same time. Mom, too, seemed to me magical, every weekend she went for a manicure and styling, and I sometimes with her for the company. It was just possible to rejoice at this new world, its blossoming, oneself and one’s life. Recently, I told my master about this in a hairdressing salon, and she was very surprised: many girls were either forbidden to be painted by their mothers, or forced to be beautiful for someone, to match someone's taste. It is very sad. And we had it like this.

La Prairie Cellular Power Charge Night Face Cream and Penhaligon's The Ruthless Countess Dorothea Scent

Maria Dubinina

clinical psychologist gestalt therapist

There were two best cosmetic gifts in my life. One did the mother-in-law, just led me to the corner and said: "You need this." The mother-in-law, of course, knew nothing about magical retinol (as I did then), but believed in miracles. Which did happen to my reactive dehydrated skin, which suddenly ceased to be capricious. It is a pity that this tool stands as a cast-iron bridge - I usually bought it once a season, but now I increasingly prefer the same efficient, but more economical

mesotherapy. The second gift was made by the husband, in a conversation with whom I casually mentioned that here, in Penhaligon's The Ruthless Countess Dorothea, cool cinnamon. Husband loves cinnamon in coffee, apparently decided that I could be "seasoned." In addition, this series, in principle, he likes with my light hand - of course, because of the beautiful "heads" of the bottles (although I sincerely believe that the classic Penhaligon's series is no less good). Sometimes it seems to me that Countess Dorothea is cinnamon, taken out from under the wing of the very owl on the lid: a little wet, tart, with some animal notes. When applied, it creates the feeling that there is a cinnamon stick in a glass with grog in the mouth - even the tongue is tingling.

Brush for washing Foreo

My friends no longer have the risk of giving me perfumes and cosmetics, unless I specifically ask for something, because guessing what I like is little chance. The certificate in this case is the best gift (by the way, recently, I purchased a gift certificate at Cosmotheca — Ira, thank you!). But I have a friend, everyone called Chuck. He is an exemplary geek - he loves to find new intricate gadgets, technologically advanced multi-functional items, in general, the ambassador of the future world.

And when it finds it, it advertises to everyone. This is called Kakuchaka. So, on one of the birthdays, Chuck, in an impromptu and surprise order, presented me with a Foreo washing brush. Gadget? Gadget About beauty - very much. And guess. Since then, this gift has been permanently registered in my bathroom, and now I even have to share it with my younger daughter - she likes the way he does "vzhzhzhzh", and I like the effect.

Lipstick Chanel Rouge Allure

Olga Smirnova

beauty blogger

My best cosmetic gift made me a girlfriend seven years ago. Then I was not yet a beauty blogger whose lipsticks number in the hundreds. At that time, my cosmetic bag consisted of 99% of the mass-market media, and in the store I even bashfully lowered my eyes at the Chanel or Dior corners, because it was an unaffordable luxury. And my friend Olya gives me the first Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in my life. I did not even understand how it opens: this secret

I have never seen a push-button mechanism before. Now in front of me on the table is the entire latest collection of Chanel, it warms me and makes me happy, but these emotions are completely incomparable with those that the first lipstick caused.

I regularly give myself gifts myself. For example, in 2015, the United States launched a limited MAC collection with designer Giambattista Valli. After the announcement of sales, the site of the brand lay tight. I updated it every second, screamed at the top of my voice at the computer and eventually snatched four of the five lipsticks. How many curses then heard my walls! I remember this case of gambling very well. I also have my beauty tote, from which adrenaline boils in blood. I love to bet on eBay - and win them, of course. I usually hunt for vintage perfume or all sorts of cute things like powder boxes. The most memorable gifts for yourself are a set of miniature bottles of Guerlain, a mirror for a gold frame, old bottles from Avon perfumery.

And the most useful gift of the last days, which is emotionally out of competition, is a publication issued for the 190th anniversary of the house of Guerlain. A representative Russian brand sent it to me, and I open the book for the second day and consider it with greedy curiosity.

Aroma Ella K Parfums Baiser de Florence

Valeria Dorodnykh

restaurateur

I love complex flavors and have long been looking for a new love, but it was not that. I chose among udov and woody compositions and looked more like courageous, tart and even hard smells - usually I prefer such. But suddenly, on a birthday party, a friend gave me Ella K Parfums Baiser de Florence perfume - and absolutely amazingly, this scent rested in my mood. He doesn’t look like anything that attracted my attention earlier: Baiser de Florence is sweeter,

than my previous favorites, and a bit floral, but every day I enjoy this luxurious sensual smell. And it seems to me that it sounds surprisingly organic on my skin. This is the case when the gift was hit at the very goal.
