Editor'S Choice - 2024

Ivy D'Orsony, art director Wunce mag

Before you - our regular heading "Wardrobe". For her, we photograph our favorite things beautifully, distinctively or strangely dressed people, and we ask you to tell stories that are connected with these things. In the new material - a romantic girl from Melbourne Ivy D'orsonya, who showed us an impressive collection of vintage clothes.

Points, 15 dollars; jumpsuit, 4 dollars; jumper found on the street; shoes, 6 dollars; pendants, flea market

I found these gold-rimmed glasses from the 1930s on Etsy.com. They are not very comfortable and I do not even have a recipe for them, but I still wear them, they are so beautiful.

I found this jumper in the street. It has perfect color and length.

On a long pendant there is a coin hanging from Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee in 1870. Rubber pendant with dry flowers inside I found at a flea market in Paris.

I bought this jumpsuit in second-hand. In it, I feel like a traveler or a worker. I think everyone should have this in their wardrobe.

These dance shoes from the 1940s I bought in second-hand. They are slowly falling apart, but I still wear them: they are perfect in shape and height and look great with half of my wardrobe.

Decoration on the head, handmade; dress, legacy; shirt, took away from a neighbor; boots, 8 euros; ring, inheritance

This is a nightie that my grandmother sewed to my pregnant mother. It is gradually spreading, but I continue to carry it at home, on the street, in a cafe, anywhere. I like its details - embroidery, ruffles. It seems I will have to make a copy of this nightie until it turns to dust.

I took this shirt of the brand Virginie Castaway from a neighbor. I like to wear it with white dresses - this is how I feel like the heroine of the movie “Picnic by the Hanging Rock”.

I made this decoration on my head myself. Usually, when the flowers fade, I throw them into an empty fireplace so that they dry out. After that, I cut the stalks and collect them on a wire. I especially love this decoration because all the flowers were donated by my friends and family.

When my parents made their wedding rings, my mother did not quite like the first option, so she put it off, and when I grew up, she gave me a gift. Border made of gold, smelted from the jewelry, inherited from my great-grandmothers. I also got stones from my ancestors.

I also found shoes in second-hand. I wear them almost every day.

Shirt, 5 Euro; fur collar, 50 cents; pants, 3 dollars; shoes, legacy

These are my favorite pants in the spirit of Marlene Dietrich - another thing that keeps on pins, because I just can not get to the studio. They are very large, but of high quality - the wool from which they are sewn is simply beautiful.

I have a rather large collection of faux fur collars - about six or seven different colors. My favorite is emerald green.

I found this silk shirt from the 1950s at a flea market. She is a little big to me, and recently I lost one button, but I still can not part with it. She has been with me for many years.

These crocodile shoes from the 1940s were presented to me by an aunt - one of those sudden surprises that you receive from relatives.

Velvet jacket, $ 85; guitar, 230 dollars

A small Harmony guitar from the 1950s is not the first one I bought, but the first one that fits. She makes a little noise and does not keep the build, but I love her for these oddities. It's like wabi-sabi. I had a long and tangled affair with this jacket. I first saw him in a vintage shop when I handed over things for sale there. Then I did not have enough money to buy it, so the sellers decided to hold it for me so that I could always stop by and admire it. I bought it all of a sudden this year at half price.

Jumpsuit, 7 pounds; Camper shoes; Levi's jacket, legacy; earrings, 2 euros; belt inheritance

I remember how I was amazed to see this green velvet jumpsuit on the Portobello market in London. I haven't worn it for a long time, but now this is one of the most important things in my wardrobe.

This is an old jacket from the 1970s, which I got from my mother. I like the fact that we both wore it during our youth. In my wardrobe there are many things that migrated from my mother.

This belt was my dad's scout belt - he wore it in the 1960s. When I was little, he lay in a box with my ceremonial things. In the children's boxes you can find a lot of interesting things.

Earrings bought in second hand for 2 euros.

I bought these Camper shoes on sale a couple of years ago. I didn’t wear them much, because they were too tight for me.

Jacket, T-shirt and shoes, took a wear; jeans, 8 euros; belt, 2 euros

The old T-shirt with the Australian group Midnight Oil was among the brothers of my friends and the friends of my guys - in general, I went around the whole social circle. I hope she continues to travel further.

Jeans I, again, bought in second-hand. I like the fact that they are so baggy. They confuse people a little, but these are still my happy jeans.

A denim jacket was lent to me by a friend, but I would not refuse to have one in my wardrobe.

Lace-up boots from the 1960s. Actually, they are not mine, but I like their color and skin.

Jumper, legacy; dress, 10 dollars; bag, handmade; sneakers, 5 euro

The old Sea Scout jumper belonged to my dad in the 1960s — he was still a boy then. I like the font of the letters, but the sweater presses me a bit around the gate. I found this satin dress from the 1930s on a stock rail in a vintage store. Its owners must be crazy, because it’s awesome!

I made this bag very quickly the night before I needed it. I sewed it from the lining material that I bought at the mattress factory. Inside, I trimmed it with a vintage cloth into a flower. To be honest, I am surprised that it has not yet collapsed.

I wear these sneakers when I walk in the garden or go shopping, although sometimes they look cute even with something smart. I bought them at a flea market in Paris for 5 euros.

Cape, 25 euros; dress, vintage; skirt, 10 dollars; necklace, second-hand

I found this patchwork skirt from the 1970s at a thrift store. It seems to me that it is made by hand from materials of different eras. Silk dress is my favorite thing in the world. He was found in the wardrobe of a television show of the 1920s.

I found a necklace of seeds and natural shells in second-hand. I love shells!

A cotton cape from the 1920s is more like a museum piece. It breaks a little each time I try to put it on or take it off, so I try not to wear it too often. Usually it just hangs on the wall as a decoration.

Dress, 3 euros; coat, 25 euros; shoes, legacy

A perfect 1950s faux fur black coat. Its only drawback is the lack of buttons.

I found this velvet dress of the 1940s in the garage sale of one woman. She was selling things from her mother’s vintage shop and didn't even know how much they cost.

The kitten heel shoes from the 1950s belonged to my mom — she danced with them in her father. The nipples are starting to wear off, so I'm thinking of putting new ones.

Rings, inheritance, second-hand

When my mother first went to London, she saw this ring with marcasite and lowered all the money to him. When I went there last year, I decided to maintain the tradition and bought a ring with marcasite and citrine from the 1940s. I have a lot of jewelry with marcasite. I found a pinkish ring with gold and topaz in second-hand. I like that it is a bit beaten and there are no pebbles in some places.
