Dyspnea: Fairy outfits with down and sparkles
IN WEEKLY RUBRIC "NEW BRAND"Wonderzine presents young designers and tells where and how you can buy their things. The heroes of this week are Aimee-Cherie Kendall, Rachel Motter and Jamin Zalfen, the founders of the Australian brand Dyspnea, creating transparent and shiny things decorated with down.
Aimee-Cherie, Rachel and Jamin met while studying at Polytechnic West on the Fashion and Textile course in Perth, in the west of Australia. Brand designers founded in 2012, calling it Dyspnea, which translates from English as "shortness of breath." The first collection of the girls was shown in 2013 at the Perth Fashion Festival, and a year later - the second one at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. For two and a half years of existence, Dyspnea twice nominated for the WA Fashion Awards as "designers of the future." Their stuff is already “walking” by Rihanna, and the brand's Instargam has thirty thousand subscribers.
Girls manage to work with shiny, transparent, lace materials. The particular weakness of Dyspnea is nourished with a cannon, pink color, glitter and holographic fabrics. Of them, designers sew Crop tops, pencil skirts and dresses. In this case, the combination of these materials does not look vulgar in their hands, but, on the contrary, fragile and even fabulous. Transparent things with fluff in the online store of the brand are accompanied by ironic signatures like "Casual Friday" or "Is Prada gonna be slightly pissed".
It may seem that the things of the brand are created more for filming than for life. However, their Instargam proves the opposite. Brave fans of the brand wear their transparent dresses both on homemade birthdays, and on the carpet, and decorated with down and lace cropped tops are combined with simple jeans. In addition, in the collection you can find more wearable things like silk dresses on thin straps in the linen style. The new collection of the girls included jewelry created in collaboration with the brand jewelry Nylons.
Our brand is a big milkshake from the characters of Walt Disney. In five words, our things can be described as crazy, provocative, comatose, psychedelic and magical. The girl who wears them is the modern fairy ding ding who loves to dress up. We also love Britney Spears’s transparent outfit in the video "Toxic", thrash shows, everything brilliant and pizza with nachos, as well as fairy-tale characters: mermaids and vampires.
Where to buy Dyspnea items
The young brand went the right way and, without waiting for the buyers, launched its own online store. Delivery around the world will cost 20 or 54 dollars, depending on the urgency. The brand advises to contact it directly and clarify the delivery to your city.
