Indestructible Union: The best screen pairs of the year

Not a secretthat the film is easily spoiled by choosing the main roles for actors who do not work together at all, and vice versa - the most bad script sometimes saves a successful casting. This year there were a lot of films whose title couples resolutely made them only better - we decided to recall the coolest and the most unexpected: from Tom Hardy and the dogs to the enchanting duet of Elizabeth Banks and her yellow dress.

"Interview"

James Franco and Seth Rogen

The most fun and stupid couple in this year's cinema, definitely Franco and Rogen, who are completely confused about where the bromance ends and just the romance begins. In addition to their idiotic tricks behind the scenes in front of grateful onlookers, they cannot part in the movies either. Almost causing the armed conflict between the United States and North Korea, the actors were indirectly to blame for the fact that hackers Comrade Kim hacked Sony. We are sure that even knowing such a result in advance, they would still make their film about the attempt on the head of the North Korean state - all with the same idiotic jokes, timidly balancing on the verge of good taste and adequacy.

"Disappeared"

Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike

The screen version of the literary statement about the state of marriage was a success: here is a sore subject, an excellent director's work, and a worthy source. Affleck and Pike were beautiful incarnations of the Flynn heroes, albeit shown from a slightly different angle. The film versions of Nick and Amy constantly replay themselves, alternately deceiving their passion and the viewer, who quite quickly understands that no one should be trusted here. Amy and Nick, who live by deceit and desire for their own righteousness, have long disliked each other, as the couple do in romcoms, but still end up together - because, like in any relationship, everything is difficult.

"Common"

Tom Hardy and the pit bull puppy

Even before the release of the film, we were touched by photos from the shooting, where Tom Hardy is hugging a puppy. In general, while working on the film, five puppies had time to change, and with each Hardy established their own special relationship, as, indeed, his character. A pit bull puppy becomes a witness to a crime showdown in Brooklyn and leads the relationship between the main characters Bob and Nadia. Tom Hardy carries a puppy in his bosom, clinging to him, as the last chance of redemption. While the issues of money laundering and those who framed or killed have been resolved, the main character is trying to find salvation in a small dog, which he went out and saved from certain death.

"The Hunger Games:

Mockingjay. Part I "

Jennifer Lawrence and Donald Sutherland

The relationship between Katniss and President Snow remains as perverted as ever. The sadistic ruler, eager for the blood of innocent children, tries unsuccessfully in the penultimate part of the screen adaptation of Susan Collins' books to contain the district uprising. The struggle of ordinary people is given with great difficulty and at the cost of a huge number of victims, while the main conductors of what is happening still remain the above. Katniss is desperately trying to cope with the manipulations of the dictator, who continues to literally shower her with white roses, - in his actions a kind of admiration for the girl’s desperation is shining through. He even sends her a "gift" towards the end of the film in his insane spirit - her beloved Pete, who has finally gone mad.

"Blame the Stars"

Shailene Woodley and Ensel Elgort

The main success among teenage romantic films of this year is obliged to everyone not only to the author of the book, which is the basis, but also to the actors who played the lovers of Hazel and Augustus. Even children, they are forced to experience their most enthusiastic years against the backdrop of the fight against cancer, from which not everyone is alive. The best-selling author John Green wanted to show that a short life can nevertheless be incredibly rich, and the characters performed by Shailene Woodley and Ensel Elgort prove this in full. The fears and feelings of the heroes, aggravated to the utmost, beat the viewer with their fists right in the chest: the relationship between Hazel and Gus will make more than one liter of tears cry out, at the same time thanking the supreme forces for all the wonderful things that we have.

"Blonde on the air"

Elizabeth Banks and yellow dress

Megan Miles is not lucky on all fronts - and with this dress she was definitely not so lucky. She missed the post of her dream, the bridegroom threw her, and instead of quietly suffering lying on the couch, she discharged herself into a dubious yellow dress and went to the club. However, the heroine will make the main mistake when a casual lover jumps out of the apartment in the morning and finds himself in hell, without a phone, money, a car and still in that same depraved yellow dress. The comedy, built on the hypertrophied effects of escaping one-night sex, retells the simple truth that you should not be afraid of new acquaintances, and that it’s time for society to shake off all the stereotypes associated with tight yellow dresses.

"Sunstroke"

Nikita Mikhalkov and the Russian language

Taking the Buninsky "Sunstroke" and "Cursed Days" as a basis, Mikhalkov took a picture of love and war, anticipating it with a trailer with a lot of interrogative words. "How did it all happen? How did it all begin? How does she sing? What is your name? What country was ruined with these hands. How to live with it now? Why all this? We are with you - why? How did it all happen? Why is everything began?" - the director himself did not answer all these questions. A novel with the Russian language, in his own words, he nonetheless happened not only on the screen, but also on paper. The director admitted that he rewrote the story "Sunstroke" eleven times by hand to better understand Bunin.

"Veronica Mars"

Kristen Bell and Jason Doring

Favorite zero and main TV-couple teen maximalists, Veronica and Logan did not see the end of their relationship in the series, not received the last season. LoVe (Logan + Veronica) nicknamed fans were forced to ask Kickstarter money from viewers to show them how it all ended. Directed by Rob Thomas, he always dreamed of finishing the “Veronica Mars” sequel, like many actors for whom the series was the peak of his career - the final film was released this year with limited distribution. As was to be expected, a novel extending into eternity, breaking lives and obstacles, ended with a happy ending. That's just why it was completely incomprehensible to insert into the plot ten years of meaningless boring relationships of the main characters with other people.

"Beloved Ones"

Elizabeth Moss and Marc Duplass

One of the best love films of this year is played out as a play. The main actors without any involvement of other people (with the exception of the episodic appearance of the always charming Ted Danson) show the escalation of relationships on the verge of failure. Their supposedly perfect copies tempt an unhappy couple of characters looking for the former joy of relationships. Needless to say, when your opponent is you only better, nothing good can be expected. Love does not conquer everything - and Elizabeth Moss and Marc Duplass play beautifully (each with two versions of "themselves").

"They came along"

Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler

“They came together” (it’s understandable that the Russian name doesn’t transmit the word at all) can be viewed on iTunes and enjoy the ironic gaze of two wonderful comedians Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd on romcoms as we know them. The collection of romantic clichés, on which even we did not fail to walk, does not shy away from outright idiocy, and even some touchingness. Joel and Molly are the quintessence of the standard heroes: she is the owner of an indie shop of sweets, he works in a big evil corporation that threatens to close her small business. Although everyone understands how their relationship will develop and how it will all end, the main character’s predictability is on a par with the actors, and it’s a separate pleasure to watch.
