Poustovit: practicality and pedantry

Surprisingly, but the fact is that the Russian celebrities, who used to spend time in the first row, have really disappeared from RFW this year. What happened? Maybe they were disappointed in the Russian fashion? Or, perhaps, this is part of the strategy - that’s what RFW CEO Alexander Shumsky says on the official website of the Week: "RFW has a well thought-out development plan for several years ahead." One thing is clear: let it be the only one for now, but at least some stage of evolution in RFW.

The next show, which we decided to look at, is the show of Ukrainian designer Lilia Pustovit. The brand with great experience and well-established philosophy has been successfully sold for a long time both in Moscow and in Paris, London and Tokyo, and before being shown at RFW, Lily has presented her collections at Ukrainian Fashion Week for several years already.

Lilia Pustovit showed an unbiased collection, in which almost all global trends were ignored (as a rule, no one burdens themselves with inventing and proposing new RFW members). Basically, the collection consists of the notorious feminine dresses - a win-win for the Russian show. But they also turned out to be more boring than capable of emphasizing female sexuality and adding attractiveness to the image.

Dresses that imitate the cut-out apron of a Soviet schoolgirl, as well as a dress and a trench with a triangle cut in the solar plexus region looked very strange and uncertain. Impractical and not pedantic - and these two characteristics have always been characteristic of the brand. And yet, the fear of Russian (and Belarusian and Ukrainian) designers to work and experiment with prints is no longer just felt, but strikes in the eyes. Boring watercolor colors as the only possible at some point begin to act on the viewer as a sleeping pill.
