Gucci Fashion House Opens Museum
The celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Italian brand Gucci lasted almost a year, but the culmination of the holiday will come tomorrow, September 28, when the Gucci Museum officially opens in the historic building of Palazzo della Mercancia on Florentine Piazza della Signoria. The city was not chosen by chance: it was in Florence in 1921 that the history of the brand began.
The concept of the museum was developed by Frida Giannini, the current creative director of Gucci. In the huge Palazzo Museum owns three floors - 1,715 sq. M. m, which are seasonal exposure, archive, cafe, conference room, book and souvenir shops. The main premises are located on the upper floors, and the archive is in the basement. It contains a huge collection of pret-a-porter, accessories, documents and photos, one way or another connected with the history of Gucci.
September 28, the museum will open to visitors and will work year round. The entrance fee is six euros, three of which will be transferred to the city budget of Florence for the restoration of the historical appearance of the city.
