Gucci SS 2012 show held in Milan
New show Gucci, or rather, the preparation for it, began to discuss last week. The fact is that the show of the brand is scheduled for the first day of Milan Fashion Week, that is, on September 21, therefore its creative director Frida Giannini decided to arrange model casting last Saturday, the list of participating models was approved on Sunday, and the fitting of the collection began with Monday morning. This means that on September 17, 18 and 19, girls who would like to go to the show and were casting should have been in Milan. But on the same dates, Fashion Week in London, and many well-known models, as well as new models, who had a chance to get to Gucci, a show that could be a turning point in their career, had to work in Britain. However, most of the models preferred to fly to Milan in advance and go through Gucci casting, rather than work on a show in London. Then in the London week there was a serious shortage of models: on shows like Aquascutum, Todd Lynn, Erdem, Temperley there were practically no known fashion models, and the agencies literally had a crisis of models.
As a result, the casting show turned out to be quite traditional for Gucci. The show was opened by Joan Smalls, and closed - Natasha Poly. Between them came the famous models like Ania Rubik, Darya Strokous, Snezhana Onopka, Jacqueline Jablonski and Abby Lee Kershaw, as well as the already well-known newcomers, for example, Anabela Belikova, Dafne Grenveld and Shu Pei Kean.
The girls' hair was smoothly combed back, and the main emphasis in the make-up was placed on the eyes - they were heavily summed up with a black eyeliner. The first part of the collection, which included casual clothes, consisted of suits — cropped jackets of black and green colors, as well as jackets embroidered with sequins, embroidery and metal scales, combined with wide high-waisted trousers. Among the evening dresses were characteristic for Gucci dresses with a deep neckline, decorated with fringe and the same flats and metal details.
