Designers are testing sneakers

Some brands offer only a choice of color combinations - for example, laces, soles and warp; others allow you to combine materials like suede, smooth leather and textiles to your taste and even choose the “style” of the side trim.
With the help of customization, one way or another, everyone can try himself as a designer. Unfortunately, in Russia, sneaker customization services, which are so popular in the USA and some European countries, are almost not offered. Only Nike offers to personalize a pair of sports shoes in our country - and deservedly proud of it. But it is absolutely obvious that after some time other brands will follow him. In the meantime, we asked five Russian designers to improve the famous models of sneakers and sneakers to their taste and explain their choices.
Nike
Simultaneously with the launch of delivery from the international online store nike.com in Russia, a tool for customizing sneakers, which the company called NIKEid, became available in Russia. Not only casual sneakers, but also running models, soccer shoes, sneakers for training, basketball, skateboarding, as well as the Jordan line, can be assembled at Nike. Sneakers ordered through the NIKEiD service are delivered within 4-6 weeks. Prices for custom pairs - from 7790 rubles for the Nike Blazer Low to 18,490 for the Nike Flyknit Air Max.
I chose the good old Nike Pegasus 83 - timeless classics and a pleasant silhouette. I consider it a huge loss on the part of the brand that after numerous performances of Shayya Labaf (especially that “JUST DO IT”), there is still no at least one collaboration with this amazing person. It seems to me that this would cause an excellent reflection from the Internet audience, and in the wake of the HYIP one could sell a bunch of collaboration products. Here, for example, sneakers.
The face of my model copies the look of Labafa from the most motivational of his video. The black silhouette of the sneakers depicts the actor's total black-bow, and when the crosses are distributed, the suede lining gets worn, just like Shayi jeans in the video. Complementing this magnificence is the inscription "SHIA LBF" on the back of the sneakers. In the video itself, by the way, there are no sneakers, although I believe that it was such crosses that would organically complete the bow of this, without a doubt, great man, metamodernist, actor and just a good guy, Shiai Labaaf.
adidas
Depending on the combinations, prices may vary. You can customize both the lifestyle lineup, including Tubular, Stan Smith, and Gazelle models, and the sports track — running shoes, basketball, baseball, and so on. The cheapest adidas Superstar pair will cost $ 105, and adidas ZX Flux $ 95. In 2014, the brand also introduced the Photo Print ZX Flux application, you could upload your favorite photo into it and put it on sneakers. The price of the modified pair turned out to be 110 dollars.
Sneakers chose those that got, although they are interesting - a remake of 1993, now also with the option of customization. The original “first edition” crosses can be found on eBay for 1000-1500 dollars. In the options, in addition to color, you can change the texture of the skin or mesh. One of the skin textures reminded me of the white noise of the sadly frustrated Outline background. So I finished caste in a rather gloomy mood.
Vans
The brand, famous for skateboarding shoes, continues its expansion in Russia in every possible way. But the matter of customization of shoes, available in our country, has not yet reached. If you live in Europe or the USA, then on the official website of Vans you can choose the design for the seven main models of the brand, including slipona, Sk8-Hi, Era and Authentic. Of the possible modifications - only the choice of color combinations and prints. The sole can be either black or white. Delivery is free, and the price of sneakers does not change. In addition to shoes, Vans proposes to develop your own design of caps and backpacks.
Vans Authentic is a classic silhouette and iconic model for skateboarding, starting in the 70s. I chose her because of personal memories. I grew up in a residential area of Moscow, Belyaevo, with quiet green streets and numerous clusters of gray and identical panel houses. At that time it seemed to me that this area is nothing remarkable (now it is considered to be a conceptualist district, thanks to research by Cuba’s architect Snopek and his book Belyaevo Forever). I remember how during the summer holidays the remnants of the guys who did not leave for summer cottages gathered, we were wandering down the street under the scorching sun and lounged around.
From there, and the design that I made: a slightly ominous summer sun and a twelve-story building, similar to the one in which my childhood passed. I wanted to use simple, slightly Soviet, but at the same time conceptual colors. I also wanted to make small "secrets", like a print on the inside of the sole, which only you know about. In the Vans editor, I didn’t have enough customization, without using their classic prints, so I put the emblems in Photoshop on the sneakers, and it’s quite primitive - the color block and that's it.
In fact, I am a supporter of minimalism in the choice of shoes - I myself wear such a model in pure black with white stitching. But I wanted to do something a little nostalgic. I think my teenage friends would love it.
Reebok
The possibility of customization is only in Europe and the USA. The company says that "Reebok understands the need for the emergence of such a service in Russia, but it is not yet known when it will appear." The Reebok application for customization is called YourReebok - you can also develop InstaPump Fury (even the smallest detail of sneakers can be chosen in your own color - there is a huge variety of combinations), and the basic Classic model, loved by all. The price also depends on the materials and additional options.
I chased them all over the internet, previously they had limited edishn. I therefore made them monochrome almost so that they were like those I wanted. Slightly sharpened inadequate pink and blue. Black is practical. I am practical.
New balance
Combined materials, the ability to sign, large color variation - the New Balance service offers to customize three main models of the brand: 990v3, 998 and 574. At the same time, you can change a variety of details, such as the color of the rim of the letter N. The service is designed for the American market.
I chose this model because I like things with a design that is difficult to perceive from the first time. It is good when it evokes at least some emotions, positive or negative. In addition, this model has a rather interesting story with an appearance in popular culture (Steve Jobs wore such on Apple presentations) and its perception as a model for men 30-40 years old.
