Rowan McIntosh graduated from Edinburgh College of Art seven years ago and since then she has been doing only what she always wanted - sewing women's clothing. Under the brand name Rowanjoy, which was opened two years ago, dresses are mainly produced: Rowan believes that it is a beautiful dress that can give a girl confidence. Rowen's old-fashioned claims are excusable — she finds half the materials for her stuff in flea markets. But in her dresses it is quite difficult to distinguish modern fittings from old or new fabric from old patches, because ultimately the thing turns out to be a harmonious combination of both. |
I really like vintage clothes. And I founded my brand to give a second life to old things, changing them and changing them. I am worried about the society in which we live - people are only focused on creating something new and forgetting about their heritage. My dresses combine modern and vintage materials, but in the future I would like to produce two full-fledged lines: the first would be a completely intertwined vintage dress, and the second would be completely new. But since I'm a real fan of the silhouettes of the 50s and 60s, even my new dresses, I think, would look vintage. I just do not want, and I do not know how differently.
