New Faces: Maria Palm

A few years ago, a native of Copenhagen, Maria Palm was a schoolgirl who listened to Nirvana and changed her hair color from light brown to green, and from green to platinum blond. In 2009, she went to the regional stage of the Elite Model Look to support her friend, but eventually signed up herself. None of the girls won prizes, but both got a contract with Elite in Denmark.
As soon as eighteen-year-old Maria graduated from school last year, she went to work in Paris. Since then, she traveled to Europe, and at the beginning of this year, she visited America for the first time. Due to short stature, the model is more often removed than works on the catwalk. Over the course of a year, she has collaborated both with lightly published magazines and with Elle or Harper's Bazaar. In addition, the girl made a lot of commercial footage, and from simple directories at the beginning of her career she rose for Diesel and Topshop campaigns.
“Maybe it sounds trite, but most of all in this job I like to travel. Especially visiting places that many people haven’t even seen. So it's great when you wake up and you can’t understand where you are for four minutes,” Maria says in an interview with WWD .
