What celebrities think about excessive retouching
Criticism fashion industry and, in particular, gloss - a trend, away from which do not remain celebrities. While many turn a blind eye to a distorted view of beauty, some of their colleagues, like Emma Watson, blame the excessive zeal of retouchers. We remembered 10 statements of celebrities against the broadcast of unreachable images.
Lord
The young singer loves a noticeable make-up, has long collaborated with MAC makeup artists, who are responsible for her image on tour, and even took part in the development of a limited collection of the brand. Despite this, the Lord does not lose his head and does not support the perfectionist approach to appearance. Yesterday on Twitter - 1.3 million subscribers - the girl published two comparative photos from the concert: one, as you might guess, with "soapy" skin, the second with the one she really has. “Remember, flaws are ok,” writes Lord, and we cannot disagree.
Lady Gaga
At last year’s Glamor ceremony, “Woman of the Year” didn’t pour thanks, but gave a wording for the December cover. “My skin looks too smooth, and my hair looks too well-groomed. I don’t look like that when I wake up in the morning. In the morning I don’t look like this either.” In the same speech, the singer expressed the hope that the magazines would reconsider their approach to the body: "I want you to start changing your covers. Then, after them, culture will change."
Cate blanchett
Blanchett, a brave woman, allowed to put her photo without retouching on the cover of the magazine and thus spoke out against industry standards. We will get better: we do not think that this picture was not edited at all, but it is exactly the amount of processing that distinguishes a beautiful, lively and inspiring face from a simple magazine picture. Something similar was broadcast by the French Elle in 2009 with its filming with Monica Bellucci, Sophie Marceau, Charlotte Rampling and other beautiful women, but the cover of Intelligent Life is more truthful.
Beyoncé
For H & M, the campaign of swimsuits with Beyoncé was not simple: the singer was outraged by the results of the first iteration of the retouchers and demanded the return of her natural roundness, which she is proud of and which the brand considered unnecessary. The contours have been returned, and although it is naive to believe that the Swedish giant can afford advertising with un-retouched photos (even if the representatives of the brand state the opposite), it is impossible not to notice the course towards revitalizing role models.
Coco Rocha
It seems strange that the models integrated into the industry are dissatisfied with the abundance of retouching, but every person, regardless of the profession, has psychological limits. For the cover of the Brazilian ELLE, Coco Rocha posed in a transparent dress on top of her bodysuit and did not suspect that the editors would decide to strip her. The girl wrote an outraged post to the blog: "The photo was retouched as if I were posing in a frank dress on naked body - and this is definitely not the degree of nudity I am ready for. I did not give either oral or written consent to this and I am extremely disappointed team behavior. "
Brad Pitt
Pitt has more than once agreed to star in Chuck Close, a photographer who stands up for naturalness and who loves to click celebrities "head on" (remember the same Hollywood issue Vanity Fair). For the cover magazine W magazine, the photographer and the actor once again worked together - and how they both relate to photoshop, age and male perfectionism, in general, is understandable at first glance at the portraits.
Ashley Benson and Troyan Bellisario
At once, two actresses of “Dear deceivers” did not understand the promo of the new season of the series. Bellisario posted a photo on Instagram, wondering if all the actresses are not good enough to appear on the poster without so many retouching ("Why can't we look like this for the first time?"). Benson expressed the hope that this was not an official campaign, and said that because of this amount of photoshop, not one of the actresses looked attractive, but even looked like herself.
Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer, as we have already repeatedly seen, with self-perception and a sense of humor, everything is in order. The actress Dior’s recent advertising campaign criticized: “I don’t look that way. People don’t look that way.” And the CEO of Yahoo! Marissa Mayer girl said that starving to follow the standards and trying to please someone is extremely stupid. By the way, the case of Dior is not the first time Lawrence is overly decorated: three years ago the network was flown by gifs with the Flame cover, for which even a good looking actress was reduced in volume and made more curved.
Kim Kardashian
Kim doesn’t have to engage in self-irony either: she often published selfies from the cosmetologist's office and with layers of sculpturing tools on her face (we believe that such contouring is needed not by everyone, but ok). A few years ago, Kim shot for Complex Magazine; unprocessed pictures from that photo shoot accidentally hit the net. Kardashian responded with dignity: "Just because I am on the cover does not mean that I am perfect. I like my figure. Well, yes, I have cellulite, what non-skinny girl doesn't have it?"
Gisele bündchen
Giselle has repeatedly stated that she is tired of the domination of perfect images and would like naturalness to come into fashion. In the face of the photographer Johan Lindberg, she found a like-minded person. "I like that every woman has her own imperfections and peculiarities - this makes each one unique. I think that the models in the photos should look like real people, so I like the approach of Johan: he does not overdo it with the processing and search for exemplary light." And confirmed the words of the case, starring Lindberg without makeup.
