Question to the expert: Does the nails harm long-term coverage
Answers to most questions that concern us we used to search online. In the new series of materials we ask such questions: burning, unexpected or widespread - to professionals in various fields.
If you have ever done a manicure with a long-term coating, then you know that even after the most careful removal there can be problems: the nails become weakened, break and exfoliate. Absolutely harmless coatings do not exist in principle, but you can minimize the risks of getting damaged nails. The manicurist tells you how to start problems and how to cope with them.

Gel polish is a hybrid that incorporates the best properties of lacquer coatings: ease of application, bright luster, rich color palette, no unpleasant smell, long service life, resistance to damage. Of course, one cannot say that the gel coating is absolutely harmless, but the correct approach significantly helps to maintain the quality of the nails. Carefully choose the salon and the master. A very important role is played by the brand with which the place works, as some gel varnishes are toxic. Because of this, regularly appear fragility, delamination, thinning of the nail plate.
When using gel polishes necessarily need a base. It gives a good adhesion to the nail - this is a mandatory step when covering the gel. Without it, there is no guarantee that the varnish will not peel off in a day. After polymerization, it completely hardens, so that the nail is no longer subject to external influences. For example, we work on the Luxio base, which contains artificial keratin and oils. The oil in this case is a conductor: it delivers keratin deep into the plate, which under the influence of ultraviolet hardens and fills the pores of the nail, providing a firming effect.
In fact, in some cases, long-term coverage can be done repeatedly and without interruption - it all depends on the condition of the nail plate of the client. The master must follow this: if the nails become thin and brittle, then you need to give them rest and treat them. On thin nails the gel is kept very bad. However, there are tools that provide protection before applying gel polish, prevent breakage and dehydration of the nail plate. Be sure to use special creams for hands and oils for the cuticle and nails, especially during the cold weather. In winter, you need to wear gloves to protect your nails and skin from frost. If home care is not enough, then many salons have appropriate caring procedures.
Removing the gel coat yourself at home is not recommended, because not everyone can do it neatly and correctly. Everything is important here: how you do it, what kind of material you use. In such things it is better to trust a professional.
