FROM 20 TO 22 SEPTEMBER IN MILAN An exhibition of Pitti Super clothing was held - a completely new trade show, which opens in sync with Milan Fashion Week. Pitti Super is part of the Italian Pitti Immagine exhibition system that has existed since the 50s and also includes the Pitti Uomo and Pitti W exhibitions. We went to the Pitti Super and watched the new collections of more than 200 brands (some of them were provided by the fashion director Vogue Italia and Vogue Talents applications Sarah Maino within the space of Super Talents), and then selected the most remarkable brands. Their things are difficult to find in Russian stores, but you can buy during a trip or order online.
Bradaric ohmae
The brand was founded in 2011 in Vienna by Tanya Bradarik and Taro Omaye, who met while studying at the Vienna University of Applied Arts. Before launching their own brand, the guys had internships in Raf Simons, Balenciaga, Chloé, and today their stuff is widely represented in Japanese stores. The duet works with simple silhouettes, pure colors and hi-tech Japanese materials. Designers create laconic skirts, dress-shirts, suits of beige, dark blue and light blue colors. In addition, Bradaric Ohmae launched a line of accessories and footwear in which straw weaving is used as decorative elements, like on Viennese chairs.
Charlie may
Among the names discovered by Sarah Mainau is an Englishwoman Charlie Mey from the southwest of England who had an internship with Thomas Tate. She founded the brand name three years ago, concentrating on simple shapes, the aesthetics of the 90s and technologically advanced materials like plastic leather. Pretty quickly, Charlie May had its own online store. In the new season, the designer shows jackets with patch pockets, leather culottes, knitted cropped tops and raw denim.
Timur kim
A graduate of Central Saint Martins, who studied with the legendary teacher Louise Wilson, Timur Kim is from St. Petersburg. He founded a name brand in London two years ago, having completed an internship with Alexander McQueen. Timur works mainly with denim and velvet, from which he creates midi dresses, vests with pockets, jackets with cutouts, and also experiments with knitwear. Designers are good at things in the technique of patchwork and color blocking: Kim connects different pieces of color and texture of geometric fabric. All things, except knitwear, Timur does independently by hand in his small studio, including time-consuming pleating of the fabric under the press. He also collaborates with the Glitché app team - the guys helped Kim create video content for the presentation of a new collection in London.
Paskal
Young Ukrainian designer Julia Pascal founded the brand name in Odessa in 2010. For several seasons in a row, Cara Maino invited Julia to the exhibition, and finally everything grew together. From the very beginning of Pascal, the designer prefers feminine silhouettes and uses perforated fabrics. Pascal focuses on delicate colors: mint, pale pink, blue and white - and creates things of a calm, clean cut, as well as clothes made from textured materials. Particular attention is paid to the designer details: fringe and frill. Julia is perfectly successful with fringed skirts and coats, as well as midi-length dresses with “scales”, created using laser cutting on fabric — Pascal's signature reception.
An italian theory
The founder of An Italian Theory, Alessandro Enriquez, began studying at London's Central Saint Martins, and continued at Marangoni in Milan, where he founded his own brand, An Italian Theory, and at the same time got a job at Costume National. Alessandro produces ironic collections in the spirit of the early works of Franco Moschino. Remember the fried eggs on the skirts of Moschino early 90s and jackets of toys. Enriquez puts prints on dresses and shirts and cuts in the form of pasta and pasta. The designer creates colorful knitwear and accessories in collaboration with Azzurra Gronchi: for example, backpacks in the form of boxes with pasta. Flirting with Italian cuisine in the collections of Enriquez is not accidental: Alessandro loves food and makes presentations of his brand in stores from Corso Como to Biffi Boutique, summoning half a Milan for dinner parties.
