10 successful models from Asia

Everyone probably heard more than once that the fashion industry is now located in Asia like never before. The reason is simple: residents of eastern countries spend the most on luxury goods. Perhaps that is why girls from China, Taiwan, Japan and other Asian countries are increasingly coming to the modeling business. One can hardly recall at least one famous Asian model of the 1990s. At least a dozen names come to mind now.

Liu Wen

Of all the Asian models, Liu Wen, who in the past worked as a tour guide, ranks highest in the ranking of the best fashion models at Models.com: here she is the sixth. In five years of working in the modeling business, Wen became the first Asian face of cosmetics Estee Lauder, made 70 shows in one season and was honored to be the first Asian to take part in the Victoria's Secret show.

Sun Fei Fei

Sun Fay Fei is a little behind Liu Wen: she is fourteenth on Models.com. A Chinese woman came into serious modeling business three years ago, making her debut at fashion shows in London and starring for Marie Claire. Real success was waiting for a girl in 2011: she became the face of Calvin Klein, Dsquared2 and DKNY, and later signed contracts with Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Fei Fei is still considered the rising star of the industry, but has already achieved a lot: Sun made a record number of shows per season, filmed for the covers, made more than 10 shots for Vogue and appeared on the i-D cover.

Min Si

In 2009, Min C became the finalist of the Elite Model Look contest, and a year later she already gained an exclusive on the Givenchy couture show - a sure sign of a long collaboration with the Riccardo Tishi brand. A Chinese woman really often works with a French brand: she was his face, she starred in a lookbook, then she just went to the show. However, not Givenchy united: the girl also represented Diane Von Furstenberg and was repeatedly shot to advertise H & M, the most commercially attractive in the fashion industry.

Shu Pei Kin

Good friend Fei Fei and Si, Shu Pei Keen has not kept up the pace for five years. In one month, she appears in an advertisement for the joint collection of Hogan and Karl Lagerfeld, in another - on the cover of the magazine "10" and shooting Numero. In addition, the Chinese woman does not miss a single Fashion Week and collaborates with the cosmetics company Maybelline.

Tao Okamoto

If Agnes Dane were Asian, she would certainly become Tao Okamoto. The twenty-four-year-old Japanese girl, like her British counterpart, allows herself a short haircut and a masculine style - this is what street photographers love her for. Okamoto is a model, so they book it quite rarely, but neatly: for example, this season it is the face of Emporio Armani, and in the past it advertised D & G.

Sui he

Sui He, who fell in love with an unusual combination of Asian and European features, got into the lists of the most successful beginner models a year ago: at the FW 2011 shows she not only appeared on many shows, but also received an exclusive on Dries Van Noten, opened and closed Vivienne Tam and became the world's first Asian model, which opened Ralph Lauren. At the end of the shows, the editors of magazines and designers also did not deprive the girl of attention - in the portfolio of Sui there are several shootings for Vogue, W and V covers, and Karl Lagerfeld and H & M lookbooks. In November, being only one and a half years old in the modeling business, the Chinese woman was casting on the Victoria's Secret show.

Wang Xiao

Twenty-year-old Wang Xiao attached to Wilhelmina in 2010, and almost immediately the photographer Stephen Meisel noticed the model. Thanks to this, the Chinese woman made a big breakthrough by signing a contract to participate in the advertising of the fragrance Ck One. Over the course of a year, the girl managed to film for the cover of Chinese Vogue, appear in editorial i-D, V and L'Officiel, and win the New York Fashion Week.

Tian Yi

Among the models from this list, Tien And began her career later than the rest, signing her first contract in August last year. Mama helped the seventeen-year-old Chinese woman to the modeling business. A month later, Tian had already done 17 shows in New York and was filmed for several editorials.

Xiao Wen Ju

One of the last newcomers from Asia, Xiao Wen Ju, in 2010 attached to one of the most influential model agencies - IMG. A year later, the Chinese made the show Hermes and Prada, was shot for the Chinese Vogue and the photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggo for Love. The girl is planning to achieve significant heights in her modeling career, but, if she does not work out, she will open a coffee house.

Du Juan

Du Juan at least plays chess well, at the most - wants to launch her own cosmetics line and appears every month in a shoot for Vogue. Her career began with a debut at the fashionable show Chanel, and later the girl became the face of Gap and David Yurman. On top of that, Juan is the winner of the Miss China competition and a professional ballet dancer.
