Trend: Scarlet

Scarlet color in fashion causes a variety of associations - from Diana Vreeland and her famous apartments to bloody-colored dresses from Oscar de la Renta. Scarlet has long been out of fashion, and at awards ceremonies is perhaps the most serious competition to open shoulder dresses. However, in the next season, he is paid especially much attention. Scarlet is not only present in the form of accents: designers release models on the catwalk, which are dressed in fiery red from head to foot.

Appears color and blogs. Hardly anyone would pay attention to the seventeen-year-old Charles Ghislain, who is now everywhere, if not for his silk cape Maison Martin Margiela, hanging to the floor. The scarlet Chanel 2.55 bags this year also made quite a bit of noise on blogs - they even appeared to Sartorialist, who in general does not particularly like the French brand.

Scarlet is featured even in the Ann Demeulemeester fall collection. In contrast to the noble colors of the Valentino, Sportmax and Adam brands like Dsquared², Givenchy and Christopher Kane offered their own version of red in the coming season.

Nevertheless, individual things that have already managed to nazolit eyes in the shooting of fresh numbers deserve attention: leather pants Isabel Marant, a jacket with hearts Miu Miu, a strict coat Jil Sander, a minimalist dress Calvin Klein and a suit A.F. Vandevorst. The mass market is not far behind: in the festive collections of Zara and H & M scarlet dress is a real highlight of the collection. And there are red accessories in American Apparel, Topshop and Urban Outfitters.

This season there are really many shades of fresh juices made from mandarin, carrot, bloody Sicilian orange and tomato. Red does not suit me: it brings to the surface all the worst and dangerous things in me. The same with yellow, but now is not about him. When it comes to red in modern fashion, three stories pop up right away - the soles of Christian Louboutin, the dresses in the floor of Valentino and the “red Dior” of Slava Zaitsev.

Red is a very dynamic color, and for some reason, many believe that it is good and useful to celebrate the New Year. But Anna Dello Rousseau does not advise doing this in her blog. She thinks that with red, as well as green, you will merge with the tinsel of traditional colors of western Christmas. But it would be more relevant for us not to dress up in a Maison Martin Margiela rain coat, so don’t listen to Anna and run to buy blood-colored things at the sales that have started. The blessing of successful things of scarlet shades in stores is enough

The very unexpected (in colors) collection of Givenchy is replete with “pluck-out the eye” with red flashes. There is a very cool deuce with short pants, for example. Jackets and a dress with Ann Demeulemeester feathers with a hint of tomato paste look completely inaccessible. In the D & G ski collection there is a helmet lined with red rhinestones, which with all its appearance demonstrates the effect of "die!". Cerruti has a whole range of shades of red due to a combination of different textures. Here everything is red, including the tights of the models that demonstrated it.

Completely missed the common zeitgeist Dsquared². Their vampire combinations of black leather and red look like an inappropriate wipe and attempt to grab onto the gothic trend. But the train is gone. Better pay attention to two dresses from the Dolce & Gabbana collection - with black lace and velvet. Both are, of course, a very complex shade of Sicilian orange. The theme of red coats was a success with Sportmax, Paul Smith and Sonia Rykiel. The most elegant dresses of the same color at Marchesa. Well, the apotheosis of red, leather and a hat with a bunny ears was Jean-Charles de Castelbajac (the new year is coming ...).

In the Ziad Ghanem collection there are also two red dresses that should be categorized as “luck”: one with an open back, and the second with small inserts of green (hello, Anna!). The first - because it is really beautiful, the second - for what looks like some kind of dangerous plant. A Maison Martin Margiela show on the red carpet with a red tuxedo and a couple more sets in a total solemn ceremony - maybe, but looking at them, I want to say: “I don’t believe ...” But A.F. Vandevorst - believe!

Scarlet! Considering the fact that we live in the smoky city of Moscow, first of all he is associated with a blonde in furs with a war paint and lips with a duck coming out of Bentley, of course, in red heels. But lately, I have drastically revised my attitude to this color.

First, remember the long Valentino affair with its scarlet color. Each of his shows is closed by models proudly stepping on the catwalk in dresses of red color of insane beauty. And this is absolutely not my favorite “Rublevian ducks” by any means. Instantly there is a desire right here and now, breaking all sorts of traditions, to get married not in the usual white, but in scarlet from Valentino.

Secondly, I understood one nuance of this color. Its different shades can both emphasize your merits and show everyone your refined sense of style, and completely kill.

In my opinion, it is very important with which color you combine it, if a mono-color-block is too simple and a classic solution for you. The perfect moveton for me in this sense is a duet of scarlet and black, or rather it would be written that this moveton is not in the generally accepted understanding, but this season. For me, the most interesting and subtle combination - scarlet and beige. Moreover, the shade of light powder. Riding sophistication I think flying pleated chiffon in combination, for example, with a coarse-knit scarlet sweater or jacket.

From the past collections I liked the scarlet-colored maxi skirt of Jil Sander. But most of all conquered dress coat from Chloe. The most successful scar-colored color-block of Costume National, and the most delightful total scarlet bow was of Max Mara.

Surprisingly, the red color in clothing in the past few seasons has been completely reanimated. That is, it would seem that he was buried under tons of clichés and nailed from above with the song heritage of all kinds of lady in red from the catwalks, he would modestly look at the accessories and the color of his lips.

And then suddenly - the most dubious combination in the world - lace and scarlet - turns out to be subtle, clean, and incredibly timely in the collections of Ricardo Tishi. It is time to think about. The last Kommersant Weekend, which makes excellent catalogs and collections, produces a whole almanac of red things and gets to the point.

In terms of color, beige was developed as the main king, by the efforts of Phoebe Failo and Sarah MacGibbon, developed to all other land colors - from ocher to terracotta. Red in this row looked, in general, logical, it can be seen even in the autumn collection of Vika Gazinskaya, the palette that is the most correct in terms of plan: all these red and purple shades gave the red context a necessary, relevant context.

But not everything is so simple. Red color in everything - from nail polish to a handbag - has always been and remains a universal test for the overall aesthetic responsibility of a person. The human eye distinguishes 285 shades of red, and if you do not suffer from color blindness, then all this diversity is at your service. But only a rare, great intuition man will be able to find the right shade. Right with respect to the moment, to the image, to the hair and eyes, after all. Red, I am sure, requires a similar meticulousness and an almost pharmacist attitude to measures and proportions.

Returning to the same image Givenchy, which became for me a revelation. It was worth this shade of red placed on a white background and complicate the texture of lace - and that’s all, bingo. How so? For the second week I have been painfully wondering how and what to wear with a spontaneously purchased, completely crazy cranberry mohair sweater. I almost make the mudbord to figure out how to subdue this shade, and even on such a texture. As long as I put on my clothes, everything comes out of a booze embarrassment.
