M_U_R brand designer Anna Druzhinina in her living room
RUBRIC "ROOM" dedicated to the place in which a person spends most of the time. It can be any space: a huge kitchen in which the hero works and rests, an art gallery that has become a second home, or simply a room in a one-room shop that turns into a bedroom, then an office. The main thing is that here a person is able to concentrate on affairs and not feel like a participant in an endless race. In our new issue - designer M_U_R Anna Druzhinina and her living room.
We live here for a long time - not to say how much. Admiralty district is beautiful, and, I hope, it will remain so after the opening of the metro. Our house near the water, on the Griboyedov Canal, and this, of course, is a big plus. In winter, you can look at how the ice floats, in the summer - on the water and ducks. Since the windows overlook two sides, the conservatory can be seen from the others: in the summer, when it is hot, there is a concert after a concert. We especially love our kitchen - it is on the sunny side, which is very important in Petersburg, where it is always cloudy. In the kitchen we do everything: we receive guests, cook, eat, work, study lessons, draw, take pictures.
My husband Sasha has a workshop, and almost all the furniture in the house, from tables and chairs to a chandelier, he made himself. The exception is an old wardrobe in the living room, which we inherited. Every new object Sasha first brings home so that we can live with him for a while. Then he makes a new one - and again he brings ... Such is our whirlpool of things. Old furniture has a different fate: something is being altered, something we give, and the rest is sent to storage.
Trivia, including beautiful albums and books, most often we bring from travels. I especially love toys and old dolls. Dolls are my passion: once I made them myself and sewed them clothes. Wicker baskets - from the village, a real rarity. My grandmother went to the forest with them when she was a little girl. Periodically, the apartment is cluttered with rubbish, but I struggle with it as much as I can. Still, we are "Boxes".
We also love plants and, like many city dwellers, we are trying to build a jungle in our home. Many came to us after the exchange, which was arranged by our friend; friends often give us indoor plants. I love big and unpretentious and take care of them as I can. Once a month I give them a "shower" - then it smells like in the forest after rain.
We do not have a nursery, therefore toys, a dollhouse and a trifle of a daughter are also in this space. Perhaps in the future we will still need to make her a separate room - once we tried, but she almost immediately asked to return everything back.
