5 applications for a comfortable winter

We continue a series of seasonal guides with a selection of iOS and Android applications needed in winter. We chose a variety of programs that will help to dress for the weather, build muscle, not to get lost in bad weather, learn more about the methods of therapy and successfully plan a trip.

WSK is a rescue application. It is useful in really critical situations (for example, a car stalled in a blizzard) and in order to avoid such situations. Every 30 minutes while you are in the car, the application reminds you to turn off the engine and check if the snow is sticking to the exhaust pipe, all to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. A collection of councils of North Dakota State University is built into the Winter Survival Kit: there are instructions on how to assemble a winter first aid kit and prepare a car for the season. Naturally, there is a function to determine the location.

 

Travel planner that shows the weather on the entire route. Management is simple: you need to score the starting, ending and middle points of the path and set the estimated travel time. When you click on the tape route in any area the application will display information about the temperature and humidity of the air and the strength of the wind in a particular area.

 

The application does not offer specific methods of treatment of diseases, but provides general and useful information about dozens of therapies. If you need to understand what homeopathy and iridology are, or understand how to properly conduct meditation and color therapy, iTherapy will serve as a good guide that you can study on long winter evenings.

 

The best application about the weather Winter Wake-Up, which can wake up 15 minutes earlier in snowfall, suddenly disappeared from the App Store (we hope it will be back soon), but you need to be aware of the temperature outside in the winter anyway. The owners of smartphones on Android are lucky: instead of the application, you can install a concise widget that “attaches” directly to the main screen: you don’t need to make any extra gestures to check the weather.

 

Excellent on the idea and execution of the application-coach. In order not to die in the first days on a board or skis, you need to train certain muscle groups (back, press, legs) - Snow Fitness Workouts is just what you need. For each workout, you can choose the level of difficulty and the frequency with which to perform each exercise; everything else is a matter of program. Run the application, follow the instructions of the "sim" and after a few weeks to go to the snow prepared - the perfect plan for the first month of winter.
