Project Manager Victoria Artamonova about your favorite cosmetics
FOR THE FACE "HEAD" we study the contents of beauty cases, dressing tables and cosmetic bags of interesting characters to us - and we show all this to you.
About care and health
I am a project manager in marketing research, and also a mother of a little daughter. This means that very little time is spent on everything else in my life, and I want to spend it only on the most pleasant and interesting things. My body and face used to be zones of "enhanced control". All my youth I had problems with hormones, I was very easy to gain weight, and my skin always brought grief: acne on some areas of the face, peeling on others - a complete set.
Now health has returned to normal and there is no need to adhere to a certain diet. Nevertheless, I continue to drink plenty of water and choose low-fat dishes, just because I like it. I also never eat fasting fruit and sweet - the pancreas shore. In general, I have more medical care for my body: it is not something that can provoke an attack of gastritis, do not overload your back, do not wear long heels, do not try to carry diseases on your legs (although there is still something to work on). I try to give myself more attention.
The person stopped asking for control about a year ago - contraceptives solved most of the problems. I update my facial wash every couple of years, now it's a delicate Tony Moly, which, fortunately, you can buy in the nearest "Girlfriend". There is only one obligatory care item - Holy Land Sebo Derm moisturizer, it suits me very well, light and not at all greasy. A couple of times a week I make masks, either from white clay or cloth. In the summer I use sunscreen. True, in the makeup I did not get involved. At the age of 20, the skin reacted with rashes to any tonal means, so that only now I am slowly trying to get involved in this topic.
About manicure
All my free time I spend on a really interesting topic - manicure. I had this hobby in 2012, and although I occasionally rhetorically ask "when will I let go?", This is clearly a story for many years to come. Here, and collecting, and color therapy, and creativity, and social life (we have our own party on instagram, which sometimes occurs in real life) - so a lot of things attach me to varnishes. Manicure is such a quiet, unobtrusive version of makeup. For bright lipstick or eye shadow, I need a lot of courage, they immediately seem to attract attention. Nails can be any color, but at the same time they will not look flashy - express yourself as much as you want.
Finally, the claw got stuck when I found out about indie varnishes - small private brands. Most often, an indie-brand is managed by a man-orchestra: he comes up with colors, mixes varnishes, pours them into bottles, leads an online store and social networks, communicates with fans, collects and sends orders. There is an option with outsourcing, when the author comes up with a shade and makes a test sample, and a large batch of varnishes for him is modeled on a professional laboratory. Brands operating on this principle are more often called not indie, but niche or boutique.
There are a lot of fan art in indie lacquers - collections of lacquers for Doctor Who and Star Wars, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, Hunger Games and Sons of Anarchy. I joke that I can continue any topic of conversation with the phrase: "By the way, I have nail polish about it!" In this format, it is already perceived not as a cosmetics, but as a language or media. Another way to tell a story. You can talk about your impressions with words, pictures, music, photographs - and you can now convey the story in color, bypassing the words.
I take care of my nails constantly. The most important thing for the cuticle is to moisturize with oil or balsam, and this should be done several times a day. Ideally, after each contact with water and at the exit to the cold. All my bags and pockets have balms in jars, oil in a pencil, oil in a roller. My favorite remedy is Badger Cuticle Care, the famous Badger, but I regularly try new brands. Now they release balms with a thousand smells, and it is a pity to confine to one “badger”. In severe cases (a completely unpleasant burr or cut) I lubricate the affected area with Purelan, it softens and heals the skin. I saw off my nails only with a glass file, from time to time coarsened skin around the nails ("side rollers") is removed with a laser file. I walk the tips of the nails with a polisher - it helps a little to fight lamination. Gradually I learned to always apply varnishes on the base, it is a pity that not from the very beginning! Don't be like me, use a lacquer base. I try to wear gloves for kitchens more often, but here I lack discipline.
The main colors, without which my varnish collection cannot be, are green, red and mint. I almost never wear Barbie Pink, Fuchsia and Crimson, I feel uncomfortable in them. The shape of the nail does not change for many years - it is a "soft square". A clearly delineated square too often broke corners, but I do not perceive everything else on myself - my hands are itching to file the edge in a straight line.
From a certain moment when I got my hand and began to feel the material fairly confidently, ideas for nail art began to appear in my head. So my hobby began another facet - creative. The joy of the fact that the picture in my head became a reality with almost no distortion, is a completely priceless thing, it enriches my life.
About favorite blogs
I read more than a hundred nail accounts on Instagram: borsch_nails love the most for the amazing sense of color and taste, and the narmai for crazy, brain-blowing designs. Subscribed to a couple of dozen blogs, favorite - those where the authors are not too fond of studio light and photoshop. For example, Beautygeek - this blog is run by two sisters, one more about nails, the second about cosmetics in general. They always have the earliest OPI swatches and a wonderful, funny and easy style - I really miss Russian laclogging with such a language. Another favorite is Lisa Cosmetic Sanctuary. I do not know when this woman is sleeping. In her profile, a couple of lines describe quiet heroism: “Lisa, 33, the mother of an energetic boy. During the day, an accountant for the full day, and at night — a beauty blogger.” She gives out so many swatches per unit of time, as if she has six hands and 72 hours a day. Kelly, Alain and Ida - for me, the three best swatcher indie brands, they show the varnishes very truthfully. Kelly often under the sun, Ida and Alain - in diffused daylight.
It seems to me that it is very important to find an occupation in life that makes you happy and not let it go. I was lucky to find it in such a simple thing as nail polishes. When I go through my colorful bottles, when I cover my nails with another beautiful shade, when the design succeeds, I’m completely happy.
