Cycles and Seasons by MasterCard

From 9 to 11 April in Moscow there will be a significant event for the general history of rus-fashion. Cycles And Seasons is already called "alternative fashion week", although it is difficult to call it a week - all the shows of Russian designers, parties, lectures and other events, which will be attended by experts of the fashion industry, will concisely and beautifully keep within 3 days.

So far, the small but quite inspirational story of Cycles And Seasons by MasterCard began with the project organizers, Ani Dyulgerova and Andrey Artyomov.

Anya was the executive editor of Vogue magazine for five years, Denis Simachev was the head of the company for two years, Andrey was the director of the fashion department of L'Officiel in the past. The agency working on the MasterCard Favorites program asked them to come up with a fashion event. Having a good idea of ​​the internal structure of the fashion scene in our country, Anya and Andrew suggested to proceed from the fact that there is, but at the same time cut off all unnecessary things right away - they collected the most interesting, fresh and daring designers. As a result, we stopped at five designers and three days.

MasterCard fully sponsors the production of shows, without interfering with the creative component. Considering the Russian business approach and the sacrifices that designers often have to go to, the usual scheme has changed a little: the designers just had to make a new collection and they were able to show it in any format on any site.

“Of course, we initially met with a large number of designers, but some did not have time to produce a collection, although according to the rules of the world industry, these collections should have been ready in January - this is Russian reality !!” says Anya Dyulgerova, “And someone has so inadequate idea of ​​his own place in the fashion world, that he offered to arrange a retrospective of his previous four collections! But there are, of course, positive examples, and all of them are with us. For example, Sasha Terekhov, who has already shown the season The new collection in New York created the capsule collection of evening gowns specially for this event, which were shot in a fifteen-minute film by Andrey Artyomov and Igor Shmelev. The premiere of the film and the presentation will take place within the framework of Cycles and Seasons by MasterCard. "

Another feature of this event was the invitation to Moscow of representatives of the foreign press. Derek Blasberg from www.style.com and V magazine and V Man, editor-in-chief of 032s Jörg Koch, Tim Verekkya from L'Officiel Homme, chief editors of Fantastic Man Joop Van Bennenkom and Hert Yonkers are just some of them.

Magazine V will shoot a big Fashion Story on April 12 in Moscow, including with the clothes of the designers of the participants Cycles and Seasons by MasterCard. There is one more fundamental point concerning the organization of Cycles and Seasons by MasterCard. This event was originally created for representatives of the industry - journalists, stylists, editors, art directors. Organizers promise to maintain iron discipline. Accreditation for shows is handled by each designer’s team. At the shows will act strict seating. The number of guests is limited to 200-250. All shows will begin no later than half an hour after the time specified on the invitation and in the schedule.

Andrei Artyomov, one of the organizers of the project, spoke about the organization, content and sense of the event: "Our main task is to create the right combination of people for each particular designer and show. In our opinion, collaborations are the right decision for young designers, young people are not in terms of age and number of collections, young ones in the sense of a small staff and financial investments, sales turnover. So far, almost none of the Russian designers have full-time design teams, draftsmen, idea hunters, r esearchers - all those who work on creating a collection. Usually, work begins with the finale, that is, money is spent on an expensive show, on expensive models and not on time and sales turnover of expensive fabrics. Young designers should be poor and talented, only then big and important fashion editors will shoot their stuff in magazines, and if they see an expensive model or a millionth production at the show, then they will naturally wait for the advertisement and only then do the editorial. Young designers should attract talented friends and create not only hype, but also use the abilities of all to create the image of their brand. "
