Corporelle: Laconic and sexy underwear from St. Petersburg

IN THE WEEKLY RUBRIC "NEW MARK" Wonderzine presents young designers and tells where and how you can buy their things. Our heroes this week are a young brand from St. Petersburg, founded by their daughter and mother, who have taken up the challenge of not having sexy, but laconic underwear.

The decision to engage in the production of linen in Ksenia Rechenskaya appeared after graduating from the University of technology and design, where she studied the history of the costume, and devoted her diploma work to the body in contemporary art. She was pushed to create her own brand by her personal need for erotic but non-fancy underwear, which in Russia is a day with fire. Ksenia wanted to get rid of all the extra details: push-ups, foam inserts, bones and baroque lace - in favor of maximum comfort. Rechenskaya invented a line of underwear, pleasant to the touch and barely noticeable on the body, but at the same time emphasizing the natural beauty of female forms.

So, in the middle of last year, a 23-year-old young designer launched a bold underwear brand corporelle (from French, the name translates as "body"), under which she produces transparent bodices, underwear, belts, garters for stockings and bondage. Ksenia orders all materials from France, including silk transparent tulle, satin knitwear, velvet elastic for decoration and hypoallergenic accessories. The girl is engaged in the brand together with her mother, who has a great tailor's experience and helps with the production. Together they sew all the linen by hand. So far, the corporelle is a very young brand: the creators take individual orders and sew things in 2-3 days by personal measurements with millimeter accuracy.

For us, underwear is a kind of bodily experience. It is fundamentally important for us that it be pleasant not only visually, but above all to the touch. I am inspired by what makes brands like La Perla, but finding something similar here is always a problem. I was surprised that our laundry was in demand not only in Russia - orders come from Europe as well. Recently, our stuff was filmed by the American magazine Gray and the British from Baron Magazine. These publications, as well as us, are close to the idea that the creation of linen can be an art.

Where to buy things corporelle

A set of linen costs from 6000 rubles. Soon, the brand is going to launch an online store, but for now sales go through Instagram. The brand can also be contacted directly by writing to [email protected].
