DANI GRIFITS
NEW YORK
Since childhood, I have loved hats and how they transform a person. I grew up in a new, rapidly developing city, but I was attracted, on the contrary, by things with history and a rich past. The collection of hats began when I was eight or nine years old, but when I moved to New York, I was forced to limit my luggage to just two suitcases. So I had to start all over again. The first hat of the collection was presented to me by a friend, she was made of felt and came to him from a warehouse of theater costumes in Queens. Apparently, there is just a treasure trove of incredible and strange things. My dream is to get to this magical place. I recently bought straw hat materials — I made some of my collection hats myself. But this is a summer version, and now, with the onset of cold weather, in New York, everyone abruptly began to wear black felt hats. They are just everywhere! |
I made this hat on request for shooting in Harper's Bazaar magazine. |
Mustard hat from the very warehouse in Queens, where I dream to go. |
This item is from the new collection of my brand Clyde. |
I found this baseball cap in sequins in the tent of a little lady on Bedford Street. My favorite party hat. |
I found a dark brown hat during a weekend in the Catskill mountains. There are a huge number of antique shops and shops with trinkets. The hat is terribly old and, it seems to me, made of beaver felt. |
Old Navy beret. He is terribly great for me, so you have to stab him from behind. It seems to me that this takes no time - it could easily be made today. |
Immediately after our first meeting, David (now my husband) found this hat in a charity shop on Coney Island and remade it for me. |
I bought this fur hat as soon as I moved to New York. I guess I was preparing for the cold. |
I stole this from my husband, it is made of Angora felt. |
The perfect hat for a bike ride: she has a string and is impossible to lose. |
A weird hat in the style of the 1920s. |
Another vintage hat found in the East Village. |
Classic Borsalino hat. This brand makes classic hats of fantastic quality. Feather and ribbon added my husband. |
