New Faces: Arizona, Katharina and Melody
The Arizona American Museu native American Santa Fe town career began in 2008, when she shot a couple of magazines, including Cosmopolitan. But before the start of a new series of shows, Arizona was forced to leave the modeling business because of a sudden pregnancy. It is worth noting that Arizona Muse took part in one of the recent shows of the season Resort 2011, but two of her appearances on Bill Blass were noticed except by the meticulous users of The Fashion Spot forum. Perhaps it was the birth of a child that helped Muse take part in one of the most talked about shows on New York week, Proenza Schouler: recently creative brand directors said they wanted to see girls with life experience on the catwalks. In addition, Altuzarra, Philosophy di Alberta Ferreti, Herve Leger and Narciso Rodriguez were invited to Arizona by their shows.
Arizona is the pseudonym of Muse. Her real name is Zoe, as her relatives and friends call her. The girl lives with her family in Brooklyn. Now she is preparing for the Paris and Milan fashion weeks. After an impressive list of shows in New York, the guys from Bellazon and TFS hope to see her on the two most enviable shows - Prada and Miu Miu.
So far, a girl with incredibly long legs, huge eyes and full lips - Melody Monrose - is almost unknown. A month ago, she attached herself to the Wilhelmina agency, since under her she had several test shots, looking at which they compare her to Chanel Iman, then to Naomi Campbell. When publishing her portrait, Fashion Gone Rogue authors mentioned that Melody was born in the Caribbean islands.
Having worked as a model for about a month, Melody made her debut at the Nickolas K show, then went to Jen Kao and Vena Cava. As a result, the girl changed a dozen images this week: from grunge Rag & Bone and Ohne Titel, minimalist Max Azria, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Herve Leger to romantic Jason Wu and Marc Jacobs. The popularity of Melody is not accidental: now dark-skinned models extremely often appear on the catwalks. Many attribute this phenomenon to the fact that Michelle Obama has been proclaimed a new style icon. And if earlier one of Michel's favorite designers, Jason Wu, did not invite black mannequins to his shows, then this season was opened by Joan Smalls.
Thanks to a good start, Melody Monrouse got into the list of the seven Catwalk Queens of Essence magazine and, like all new models, is going to participate in shows in Milan and Paris.
Young British woman Katharina Hessen is another newcomer to the fashion business who can easily get into the lists of the best beginner models from Style.com and Models.com. As in the case of Melody, Kat’s interests and personal life (for convenience, she prefers to shorten her name) is almost unknown: they will begin to interview interviewing promising fashion models after the end of the fashion weeks in Paris and Milan. But, looking at her photos from street blogs, it is already becoming clear that she loves grunge music, comics and cartoons.
Kat’s restrained and partly alien appearance (these broad epithets are clearly promoted by a broad forehead, slightly bulged ears and a small scratchy face) helped the girl to get one of the main shows of the past week - Alexander Wang, Rodarte and Marc Jacobs - and did not prevent the strict collections by Nicole Miller and Preen, the demonic Cushnie et Ochs and the romantic Jil Stuart. Kat is now taking part in London Fashion Week: she has already appeared at Topshop Unique, Margarette Howell and Richard Nicoll.
