What are wearable gadgets and why are they girls

Editorial Wonderzine under the heading "Beauty" writes not only about jars, but also about everything that helps girls feel good - we repeated it more than once, we will repeat it now. Therefore, we are interested in all sorts of devices: their variety and functionality are enormous, and they are able to greatly facilitate and even improve life - especially if you know how to use them. We begin to look at this topic with a story about basic (yes, a pedometer or heart rate monitor - it's like a white T-shirt in the clothing world) of wearable gadgets that help keep - or become more - healthy.
What are wearable gadgets
Not very folding expression "wearable gadgets" - simply the most adequate and accustomed translation of English "wearable technologies". WT is called any small computers or other useful electronics, adapted for permanent carrying with them. The first such device is a wrist watch calculator from the 80s, the most familiar are all sorts of Bluetooth devices. Both of these things, to be honest, do not interest us too much, but related activity monitors, self-heating socks and smart t-shirts are fine.
About QS devices
Devices working on the concept of Quantified Self, "consider" a person and his surroundings: pulse, number of steps, sleep time, calories burned and consumed, mood, humidity and ambient temperature - all these and other indicators are displayed on the displays of the respective devices, which to the expression of one of the co-authors of the concept, writer and columnist Wired Gary Wolf (Gary Wolf), "help express themselves through numbers." You have probably heard about Nike + Fuelband bracelets, Jawbone Up, Fitbit clothespin and you can hardly find anyone with one of these or other activity tracker among your acquaintances. The proposal of such gadgets is growing from year to year, and this is wonderful: if you don’t like something in one, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the QS story isn’t for you: perhaps a device that helped your girlfriend lose 12 kg or adjust the day regimen you do not fit, and you need to try others.
About other devices
Quantified Self - well-developed, but not the only course of the development of wearable gadgets - electronics have long been successfully built in almost everywhere. A month ago, on the well-known crowdfunding site, Kickstarter raised money for another smart shirt exercise - “smart” workout clothes, Radiate Athletics, which, firstly, allows you to remain dry during the session, and secondly, it changes the color of the fabric depending on on the temperature (that is, warming up) of the body part: this way you can see which muscles are already heated, and with which it is worthwhile to work. From a similar: sweatshirts, which, paired with the appropriate application, imitate hugs (their goal, by the way, is no joke, is to help children with autism and ADHD calm down) and more prosaic warm socks. And also: a bodyguard bracelet, by pressing one button of which you can send an SOS signal to friends, and Lapka environmental sensors. The latter are pretty (this is important) sensors for iOS devices that show levels of radiation, electromagnetic radiation, humidity and temperature around and - wow! - the level of nitrates in vegetables and fruits.
What are they needed for
We are living in a moving and rapidly changing world, where girls face problems that cannot be solved in glossy magazines. The wonderful blogs GeekChick.ru and I'm blogging IT "left" largely due to the rejection and unwillingness of girls to understand the technique - the one that can solve these problems. The fact that thousands of people have learned what RSS is, why Evernote (one, two) and Dropbox are needed and how to try on fifty lipsticks without smearing a single napkin is their merit. We pedal the topic of applications, gadgets and other technologies, because we believe that this is a new world and the answer to many questions is a kind of hello not from the future, but quite a real one, which for some reason is still ignored by many.

All these devices, like “big data” (big data), are very closely connected with such a concept as self-awareness, and for each of us they become an instrument of self-awareness of themselves and their needs: “Do I need so much to eat? What types of training I like better? How much sleep do I need? " In the near future, an individual will not be able to exist outside of the data world - and wearable or wireless devices like Lapka and Netatmo partly give us control over what is happening - even if we are talking only about the level of humidity of the air around us.
