Glass skin: A new level of radiant skin
Shining skin - the subject of passion for many makeup artists for several years now, and the techniques for creating this effect may be different. But if we are already accustomed to the highlighters and tonal bases with a wet finish, the trend born in South Korea seems like something new: it implies that the skin looks as smooth as possible and looks like glass. We tell how to apply this idea, if you really want.
How it started
The skin, as if illuminated from the inside, or even completely shamelessly discarding glossy glare, has already become standard in the Korean beauty industry: the majority of caring and decorative products produced there work to create such an effect. As Alice Yun, founder of the Peach & Lily online store, told Refinery29, “glass skin” is just the next step in the development of this trend. Korean beauty enthusiasts are spreading photos, which show not just a delicate glow, but the ultimate effect of moisture: we say hello to last year’s favorite makeup from the New York show Hood by Air and Pornhub. Next to a comfortable fashion for the most inconspicuous nude make-up, this idea looks even avant-garde - why not try it?
Shining skin, about which we all know, is quite simply “drawn” by decorative means, but in order to make it as moist and translucent as possible, you need to use several care products using the Korean method of layering: the desired brilliance is achieved through generous moisturizing.
Why do we need it
Still, remember that the Korean standards of beauty are quite atrocious, although ours, it must be admitted, is no better. Smooth, glowing skin is a sign of youth, and it is not surprising that many Koreans pay a lot of attention to effective care with a lot of manipulations, which allows you to achieve a very childlike look. And yet today it is the Asian care market that is gradually becoming the most inventive and diverse, and if the soul asks for experiments in this area, you will at least be interested in tracking Korean trends. And if you have a not very popular, but pretty goal for us to finally stop being afraid of oily shine, "glass skin" - perhaps, that is necessary.
How to do it
First of all, you should not forget about peeling - it can be a roll or exfoliant cream that gently peels the skin and prepares it for the application of subsequent products. Then you need a moisturizing serum or essence: Koreans offer Artichoke Power Essence of the brand Yuri Pibu, the name of which, in fact, translates as "glass skin". In the Russian market it is not, but a similar texture can be found in European and affordable Asian brands - good and inexpensive starters can be found in Holika Holika.
You need to finish with a moisturizer, and from above, if necessary, apply your favorite light tonal tool (of course, not matting). Finish, you are amazing: each remedy needs to be applied in small quantities and well distributed over the skin so as not to get a sad flow to the neck. For the same reasons, makeup bases with a large number of silicones in the composition are not suitable for this effect - and it is quite possible to experiment with all the other combinations.
