About the use of cosmetics by men
It so happened that the attractiveness of men lies, rather, in his body and behavior. Therefore, the maximum that men spend on is a haircut, which is key in a neat way, and some functional products like deodorant, shampoo and shaving products. I agree about the popularity of manicure and hair removal, but this is more of a Moscow story, not a Russian one. Of course, I would like the guys to pay attention, for example, to exfoliating facial products and lip balms, but this is a question for personal development, education, self-awareness, and not for cosmetics manufacturers or society.
In the Scandinavian countries and in Asia, men are quite normal in regard to BB cream, but in our area it’s hard for me to imagine if you don’t take into account those rare comical examples when first a layer of foundation cream enters the room, and then the man wearing it . My personal OC in men's decorative cosmetics are concealers and colored or transparent eyebrow gels.
About the basics of care
I have been actively running a beauty blog for almost five years, so every day some new tools appear in my arsenal. But despite this, the principles of self-care remain unchanged and for the most part dictated by my physiology - a high level of testosterone and, as a result, very oily skin and hair. I clean my face with micellar foams or gels, they penetrate the epidermis to a lesser extent due to the larger diameter of the molecule, unlike traditional surfactants in the compositions of the usual means for washing, and, accordingly, do not overdry the skin, but completely relieve it of excess sebum. My face tonic and moisturizers always contain acids - this is the only way I can keep my pores clean for as long as possible. I want to approach the retinol, but have not yet found care for myself with a comfortable texture, since for the most part retinol-containing cosmetics are produced for aged skin, which is usually made in a more dense texture. In eye products, I have the opposite approach to most people: I put light gels against bruises and puffiness overnight, and in the morning - the most moisturizing eye cream, but not vice versa.
I use hair styling almost every day, and if we take into account their catastrophic fat content, I often have to clean my head in the morning and in the evening (there is nothing worse than going to bed, for example, with clay for hair). I strongly disagree with mass and luxury brand shampoos, I’ll rather pull out my hair from the itch that appears or shave my head rather than use it longer than two or three days. Dimethicone and other silicone derivatives in their composition are evil for me personally, no matter what the manufacturers and PR people say about the fact that silicones are cheap and expensive, with a small molecule or with a large one - all is one and all is bad. I choose silicone-free shampoos, these are often found in Asian and "ethical" brands of cosmetics (I write in quotes, because everything is relative and often debatable).
I love perfumery, I have a large collection at home, part of which is constantly rotated. I will be frank, sometimes I get very upset when I forget to take with me a bottle of mood-appropriate aroma, when I leave the house all day.
About blogs and work
Frankly, I do not often have time to read beauty blogs, but I watch YouTube with great interest. More precisely, I do not look, but I listen - I turn on their videos while I am cooking or washing the dishes. Separately, sit down and purposefully watch me, too, is not enough, but from the video bloggers you can learn a very valuable internal representation of girls about cosmetics in the context of their own experiences and problems that they face in everyday life, not just on backstage fashion weeks or photo shoots. But I get the most valuable beauty information from Instagram - so far nothing has been thought up more promptly and visually.
I’ve probably been blogging since the age of nineteen, he moved from site to site several times and was just about my life, design work and studying at the art-graphic faculty. A few years later I realized that I could add posts about perfumes and cosmetics to it. I was pushed into cooperation with the once popular beauty shop "Beauty Club" and Tatiana Averina, who worked in it, as well as my previous work experience in Cosmopolitan magazine in the department of advertising special projects - I liked to do cosmetic models most of all. As a result, beauty posts ousted all others from my blog, and now we see what we see.
That is, cosmetics is my job, my hobby, and even a means of entertainment / inspiration. From early childhood I adore poking around in cans, despite my seriousness by nature and academic degree behind my back. I like to discover promising products myself - I order a lot of things abroad or I buy in Russia in order to have my own opinion. Of course, I want to fly to the international cosmetic exhibitions of the Cosmoprof level in Bologna, I hope that our company will very soon grow to the extent that we can become not only a major retailer, but also a distributor of many interesting products. The main thing is that a start has been made, and now, for example, we are already bringing into the country the best make-up fixers in the world.
About male and female cosmetics
To be honest, I do not divide the cosmetics and perfumes on the male and female. Appearances and individuals possessing it have different needs that cannot be satisfied with something “male” or “female.” I love the scent of jasmine, but marketers will never release a male jasmine scent - they will roll texts about “feminine femininity” and “sensual sensuality” and make pompous bottles. Where will I go for such a scent? Of course, to nishevikam, if you suddenly feel shy about the inscription "pour femme" on the bottle, or directly to the women's shelves, if not shy. The same with care - I have acne, I will look for peeling or regulating cream, regardless of gender, and I will find it, most likely, in the range of professional or pharmaceutical brands of cosmetics, which also do not write silly feminine-masculine inscriptions on their vials. If the cosmetics says "for men" or "for women", then for me it is rather a bad sign, indicating that marketing for this brand is clearly higher than the objective function and active component composition.
