Another is not a massive, but an interesting trend - the emergence of products-transformers. They are needed in order to change the properties of other means, such as lipstick tint. We understand why brands and us need this.
How it started
The idea of mixing one tool with another to get something third is not new, but now it has received a fresh incarnation. On the shelves appeared lipstick, coatings and even perfumes, not intended for independent wear, but serving as "filters" for other products. With their help, lipsticks change color, lacquers - hue, and fragrances - intensity. Not less attention was attracted by other cosmetics with tricks: for example, Holika Holika mascara, whose brush can be adjusted, or the manifest lip balms. But the most surprising thing is that such brands produce products that are not aimed at a young audience at all.
We have already written about how big brands are trying to respond, albeit slowly, to the requests of not a new circle of customers: how they adopt the trends of the future is at least interesting. Already the "adult" target audience is not enough classic red lipstick, even if it is perfect. The risk of big brands is a real event - who knows, maybe this is how new "vital" makeup items will appear.
Why do you need it
All these tools are part of the multitasking trend of cosmetics, but they can hardly be called uniquely useful. The recent interest in adjusters and the art of color correction had pragmatic grounds: the search for a suitable tone did not become an easy task. And transforming products is, of course, a story about excesses: filtering products are designed to entertain and diversify into familiar makeup. It is not yet clear whether they will sink into the soul of those who do not collect a collection of unique "cans", however, one should pay tribute - such products really keep promises.
Filters significantly reduce the amount of effort, provided that all these special effects are easy for you to integrate into everyday makeup. However, most likely, similar positions already exist in your cosmetic bag: today's textures can be mixed indefinitely, each time obtaining different results, and you can spy on unobvious solutions from your favorite bloggers and makeup artists. Such games, of course, more difficult, but they also carry away much more.
How to do it
Smashbox has added four transformer shades (in particular, ingenious gray Grunge) to the Be Legendary lipstick line that make any lipstick (except stubborn liquid-to-matte) brighter, darker or colder. Maison Margiela in the line of perfumes Replica appeared dry base oils Blur and Glow, which can muffle the original perfume or, conversely, make it brighter. The latest issue of this kind happened in the spring collection of Chanel. The brand introduced Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in a translucent shade of Beige Dore, which also works as a coating that gives lipstick a golden glow, as well as Tinted Top Coat Black Metamorphosis top for nails, which adds depth to the varnish.
The Replica “filters” look the most useful: they do not change the look of the fragrance drastically, but they really make it sound more or less intense, which helps to tame perfumes that require a special occasion. A variety of lip coatings are not entirely new, and in this segment of the products are good matting (there is such a top, for example, in Glamglow). If you often use make-up trick with powder in a lip make-up, then a special tool will definitely be superfluous.
