About makeup and work
I never liked painting - the inspirational beginning of a story for a makeup artist, I know. I preferred to sleep in the morning make-up (and I still often make a choice in his favor), and I got into the profession by accidental coincidence. I consider people the most important in the industry. I like to communicate, I like to learn new things. I don’t have so much experience, but I feel comfortable: senior masters willingly share information, take it with them to shootings and shows, they gladly suggest. To be honest, I did not expect such openness - it became one of the main reasons why I decided to develop in the art of makeup.
I want to work more on the set, with models, I want more creativity. At the same time, I love my clients, I like to interact with them - so I don’t want to leave commercial work. Many masters are afraid to break the rules that they have been taught, but I like to invent something new and unusual, to reveal the individuality of those who come to me. Let it even be some minor detail like bleached eyebrows or colored eyelashes.
About attitude
I see makeup from two points of view: as art and as therapy. In the first case, we are talking about creative work, about filming, about something that is intended to inspire, interest, and arouse emotions. In the second case, this is a personal story: the opportunity to raise your spirits, make friends with yourself and your face, find a way of self-expression.
I had a period of rejection of my appearance, but a long time ago, and it passed quickly. I am a selfish person and dream of the notorious boys and girls whom I meet come to the same worldview. It is possible and necessary to love, appreciate and respect yourself - let the makeup help with this. I really want people who are fond of makeup, understand that it is needed first of all in order to bring pleasure and positive emotions. During consultations, I always remind clients that our main task is to concentrate on what we like in our face, and try to emphasize this, and not devote all the time to disguise the “flaws”.
About care and cosmetics
I have oily and problem skin - sprinkles constantly. I regularly visit a beautician, periodically undergo peelings and cleansing courses. At home, my care is simple: cleansing, acid tonic a couple of times a week, moisturizing, sometimes a mask. In hair care, everything is also straightforward: shampoo, conditioner, mask once a week.
My home makeup bag is minimalistic. The passion for make-up, paradoxically, helped me to realize that I have the right not to be beautiful if I have no mood, and beautiful if I am in a good mood. Usually I put on the foundation, use concealer and highlighter. Because of the tendency of the eyes to allergies, I try to paint them less often.
For the shoot, I brought the products with which I have the longest relationship. Many of them have passed the test of time - not for the first time. Perhaps someone will find the set boring, but I love simple and versatile tools. I pay most attention to tonal and instruments, whether books or brushes.
About inspiration and Telegram
For me, the main sources of information are several channels in Telegram and instagram accounts of makeup artists. I do not read blogs. Books, online publications, magazines - necessarily. For inspiration, I look at the work of other artists, study colors and paintings, hang out with other makeup artists. I have been telegraphing for about a year. I remember once there were only five of us, the most desperate and honest - now the number of beauty channels has exceeded one hundred, but it seems to me that there is little use for this. Their content repeats what can be found in instagram and blogs, and the authors focus on bank reviews. I would like to talk about the beauty went further reviews of the funds, because you can talk about the field, and about the people in it, about ideas and creativity.
The fact that the channels are gradually gaining popularity, there is a negative side - for example, the story began with advertising, which I do not recognize. Stamps began to send cosmetics, and it is still unusual for me when this happens. I don’t hide from subscribers that some of the products are given to brands, but sometimes it plays a cruel joke on me: some decide that everything I’m writing about was for free and that all my enthusiastic comments were "paid for." In the end, she just stopped bothering, but I'm not going to give up honesty. At the very beginning, when I still had little understanding of how everything worked, a story happened to me: it didn’t work well with the sent tool. I wrote a brand PR, they say, arrived, but did not fit. In response, received: "Write about this in the channel." Since then, I do.
