The curator of the gallery "Triumph" Sofia Simakova about favorite outfits

FOR RUBBER "WARDROBE" we take pictures of beautiful, original or strangely dressed people in their favorite things and ask them to tell related stories. This week our heroine is the curator of the Triumph gallery and co-founder of the online gallery and auction SAMPLE Sofia Simakova.

I do exhibitions in the gallery "Triumph" and lead my project SAMPLE, constantly working with visual material. This is not about illustrations or exhibitions, where I come as a spectator, but about the works that I encounter in the workshops, during filming and editing - all this forms my taste. I still do not try to make a statement with the help of dressing manners, but I can, for example, get so sick with the artist's paintings that I will go to buy clothes of similar tones or style.

Basically, I find things in mass-market stores: I can't train myself to spend a lot on clothes. Putting, say, a bag is unthinkable for me. At the same time, when I manage to earn a lot at once, I force myself to fork out - such things keep memory, make sense. Such purchases include Tatuna Nikolaishvili's favorite costume from INDEXflat, the Walk of Shame jacket, Paul Smith costume and J.Kim skirt.

Just as much as painting, only music can influence me. She took this costume out of her wardrobe after falling in love with Africa. It was similar with India, in his youth - with the first techno, but it is better to keep silent about these experiments.

It was always hard for me to buy clothes in pop-up or small concept stores: I was too lazy to look for them along the lanes and measure something for a long time. But Anka Tsitsishvili, who carefully, gently and with great love chooses things for INDEXflat, gradually retrains me. She talks about dresses, like me about the pictures, and it can not but bribe me.

The suit was hanging around for a very long time, sometimes I put on trousers or a jacket separately, but there was no reason to wear everything together. But in the winter she wore it almost every day, when she had an internship at Phillips in London. I felt immediately not a trainee, but at least a head of sales department. Things amazingly change their sense of self.
