What is happening with the Ukrainian fashion: Collection Litkovskaya SS 2014
FOLLOWING THE FASHION WEEKS IN NEW YORK, LONDON, MILAN AND PARIS STAR local shows. The first - at the Ukrainian Fashion Week, which was held from 9 to 13 October. Wonderzine fashion editor Liza Kologreeva went to events to tell about the most remarkable collections of Ukrainian designers.
We already told about Lila Litkovskaya: she created a brand in 2006, and a year ago her collections began to be sold in the Kuznetsky Most 20 store, albeit not entirely successful: the market hardly perceives new names, especially Ukrainian ones. Nevertheless, Litkovska is one of the most remarkable designers in Ukraine: she has always been good at working with cuts and shapes, as well as with complex materials - different types of leather and fur. We visit a designer’s studio on the day it is shown and we understand that there are no problems with the Ukrainian market. Here one of the most remarkable things of the past collection, a dress made from a mixture of costume fabric and silk, is tried on by the fashion editor Elle Alena Glukhikh. In parallel, the girl tells how Litkovskaya is loved by her colleagues in the magazine: they even wear identical jackets, they are so good.
In the designer's mudboard is the Interview cover with actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who holds his lips with the inscription "Kiss me". The collection is called "The Kiss", and the only thing that reflects is the curly seams of the dresses, which resemble lips. Litkovskaya explains that the collection is feminine and sophisticated, she tries to make a timeless design and focuses on quality - for her this is one of the things that the designer can now stand out.
Perhaps the first exits are unexpectedly feminine: these are silk vests and jackets, tied with thin belts, and skirts with ruffles. Tops with tucks on the sides and wide trousers with darts return to the usual direction of the designer. Things from perforated leather are handled: dresses that are worn over fitting dresses, slightly voluminous coats and skirts, which are successfully combined with shirt dresses made of thick gray silk. The basic things are emerald blouses and skirts, simple white dresses and brown raincoats. For the evening, the designer creates dresses of two types of material: from the front - from pressed silver silk (he sits freely), and from the back - from thick beige (he emphasizes the figure in contrast). Clothes Litkovskaya combines with leather mesh shoes and clutches, decorated with long fur, which are reminiscent of the line of accessories of Alexander Wang. Undoubtedly, Litkovska is one of the most promising and talented Ukrainian designers, which from season to season shows solid and harmonious collections. But with this collection the same story as with the new show by her colleague Svetlana Bevza: it looks appropriate in the context of the current season, but judging by the collections of the plant like Céline and Dior, in six months minimalism and cleanliness will interest us a little less than, for example now
